<p>Ok, I got into all three of these amazing schools... but idk what to choose!!!! Any help would be greatly appreciated!!</p>
<p>That's a tough decision, so focus on what you really want in a school. Go the revisit days and see what feels right.
I go to Andover if you have any questions feel free to post them or pm me. I can't add too much insight into the other schools since I've only been to Lawrenceville once and haven't been to Groton at all.</p>

<p>I visited and liked it a lot. However my parents think that it is very sophisticated and that kids grow up too fast. It has great sports though</p>
<p>Revisit and go with your gut. Nobody except for you will know where you feel most comfortable.</p>

<p>About Lawrenceville, I know some people there who definitely aren't over-sophisticated and who didn't grow up too fast, but I know there are a group of girls there who do (like most schools).</p>
<p>That being said, why "should" you go to Andover? Is it for the name? You can't go somewhere just for the name, and remember this. Among normal human beings, Andover is definitely more prestigious. However, among colleges (and possibly workplaces after college) I'm sure neither is more "prestigious" than the other.</p>

<p>sporty fool: I turned down the IVY league for a small liberal arts school 30 years ago because I loved the atmosphere. In retrospect the Ivies gave my colleagues contacts and my best friend from medical school has adopted me into her Ivy group of friends. My advice now to you and my son
is to think 5-15 ars ahead and picture where you see yourself. If you are going to med school it doesn't matter but if you choose law or business you will need the best contacts.</p>

<p>I think the comparison of Ivy vs. small liberal arts school is not completely applicable in the Andover vs. Groton decision Sporty is looking at. Both schools are "Ivies" (for what that's worth). They are both amazing academic schools with incredible teachers, facilities etc. However, one is a school of 1100, one is a school of 350 and this is a major difference. Sporty, go back to both for revisits and see which one "feels" like your kind of school. Many schools put on a song and dance routine for revisit day but you'll be able to get a sense of the real Groton/Andover/L'ville despite this. Three very different schools but all great ones...</p>
<p>So, basically you guys think i should go with my gut, but if I want to go to Harvard or Yale or Princeton and then be a top lawyer or CEO then I should go to Andover?</p>

You can fulfill any of those dreams by going to any of the three. All three have great college placement; all three have great alumni networks. Go with your gut feeling.</p>
<p>Please don't attack me for this statement ( it is not based in data driven research, however...) To the naive, non BS expert, Andover and Exeter have the name recognition of HYP... They are larger, superb boarding schools, known to most people. That is not to say that the other boarding schools you are considering are not aren't also outstanding. This name recognition is much less important than your comfort level and specific interests. If you have a passion for a program, sport , etc. at one of the schools, recognize its value. Furthermore, the biggest name could backfire. For example, if I went to Princeton, Elliot Spitzberg would have been my colleague/contact and this may have lost me my job if he appointed me as one of his councilors. Some measure of luck and making prudent choices along the way are considerable factors in the end--Best wishes whatever you decide.</p>
