So I took the sat in october and december(1940) of last year and got a 650 in math for both times.

I haven't touched anything sat 1 related since october, so I took the BB practice test #1 for math as a diagnostic and I got a 690.
I was wondering how to raise it to a consistent 730+, and I have until October to prep.

I bought the Grubers math workbook already and got 98/101 on the diagnostic thing in the front, and I've been going through the review from the beginning and it seems pointless b/c I feel like its just basic review and I'm not really learning anything.
So my question is should I keep working through this book or should I buy Dr. Chungs?

How do you feel about grubers math? I need some review of geometry- do you think it would help me? Did you score 650 before or after grubers?

btw I’ve read dr. chungs is best used by students already scoring 600+ and want to achieve 650-800 give or take

Please be aware, there are several books on the market specifically for SAT math. All of them have their good points and their less than good points. Just recognize that when someone chimes in with a recommendation for one specific book that what they are in effect saying is, “hey, that book worked for me.” This is all well and good but you should know that no two students are alike, what works for one may not work for another, or for you. If you are determined to do this on your own, certainly a viable option, then I suggest that you head down to your local library and check out some of the books available there. See which books you connect with and then work with those. The one book you should absolutely own is the Blue Book, that is the book put out by the people who write the SATs.

Eddysgotmilk, you say you took the first practice test in the Blue Book as a diagnostic. Did you review the questions you either got wrong or omitted? Do you have a record of those questions, broken down by topics and by question style? Too many students focus on the score rather than how they got that score. You say you scored a 690, in your review of your answers did you notice any trends, for example, I did really welll on the Algebra but not so well on the Plane Geometry questions. Or, I did quite well in the first half of each section but then got weaker as the sections progressed. These are the kinds of things you need to determine for that test to truly be a diagnostic test
