Grumpy Guidance Counselors...

Hey guys! So at my school, you have to get any class you might want to take over the summer approved by your guidance counselor, and I really wanted to take precalc but as of now she's not letting me! She told me to "slow down and savor my breaks" but to take all the classes I want, I really have to take precalc over the summer! I'm a strong A math student, and an A student in general... Is there anything you guys can think of to convince her? Thanks in advance!

Say this:

“With all due respect, the way I spend my breaks is entirely up to me. While I appreciate that you want me to enjoy my time off, I am making the choice to do the work. Can we organize this?”

Hopefully she’ll see that you’re serious about it and couldn’t care less about time off. Unless you do care. In which case, I don’t recommend doing it over the summer and instead recommend simply taking double math next year. ;)

I can’t double up, my school doesn’t do that, but I don’t really care about break. School’s not that stressful and I like math so…

What if you enjoy taking a class over the summer? :)

I think I would… But my guidance counselor doesn’t which is the problem…

Well, she’s not the one taking it.

^lol yeah, but I still need some way to convince her to let me take it… And I can’t take it without her approval because a girl I know did that last year and had to take the class again during the school year anyways…
