I'm so confused. I applied to ILR, then I got a decision letter stating all the things I could do to transfer, including maintaining a GPA & taking certain courses at another school. IS THIS A GUARANTEED TRANSFER LETTER - or is ILR sending it out to all us rejects? =/

My online decision flat out rejected me, & it said I wasn’t getting a paper version of a letter mailed to me at all. Then I wake up & find this letter, talking about the transfer option & transferring after 2 semesters. Did all rejected kids get this?

what exactly does your letter say? mine says: “However, the ILR Admissions Selection Committee thinks highly of your acdemic achievements and leadership skills, and would like to offer you acceptance in the Fall of 2011, conditional on fulfilling the requirements for a guaranteed transer.”

They’re not talking about the transfer option merely encouraging you to think about transferring after a year if you still want to try and get into the program. Lots of colleges do this actually.

I believe it is a guaranteed transfer option for next Fall of 2011. You just have to take the requested classes at other colleges for a year and maintain at least a “B” in those classes. anyone got GT from CAS? For CAL, you have to get at least a 3.5 for biological science classes. I’m going to Cal Berkeley next year but I’m still going to accept this offer for an option.

WhatKatieDid, I believe Cornell did offer you a transfer option for next year. You should call the admission office to reconfirm that on Monday if Cornell is still your first choice. They offer about 300 students for GT due to the limitation of space for GE classes.

"Thank you for your application to Cornell University. We regret to let you know that we are unable to offer you admission to Cornell. Given our very large and competitive applicant pool, it is not possible to offer admission to all candidates who would benefit from a Cornell education.

Within the next few days you will receive notification from the undergraduate college to which you’ve applied that you are being offered a transfer option. Please contact the college directly if you have any questions."

Prospectus- I got the same message. Idk what I’ll do! I guess we’ll see in a year

Why go to UPenn then transfer is my question haha. UPenn, clearly, is amazing (congrats on getting into both!)
If you are DEF going to transfer to Cornell sophomore year I’d suggest going to a public/state school that first year to minimize cost…save money for Cornell. Idk if this is your situation, though.

Well cost is slight issue, but still Philly for a year is worth it I guess. However, Penn still doesn’t have ILR so for sho I will be transferring. Cornell ILR GT for me. There is no other program in the world like it and it fills all of my educational needs, desires, and future plans/goals.

Upenn will be enough for a year. Cornell will be for life.
