Assuming a good work ethic, what books/resources would you recommend for guaranteeing a 5 on the AP exam? Government is a very straightforward exam, with nothing terribly tricky, so basically one must simply gain exposure to everything that might possibly be tested on the AP exam (within reason). I have PR, which I’ve heard is quite good, but to me there is not a WHOLE lot of information, and I really want a 5 on the exam, so I’m looking for a complementary resource to help achieve this. I suppose a textbook might be more in this vein of desire, but there is perhaps too much information in the standard textbook So, are there any other prep books that might serve as a good addition to PR?

How much do you know about government to begin with? If you never watch the news I don’t know how you can best catch up (not to imply you can’t, I just don’t know what would work best for you). If you watch the news and have a general idea of how this country is run, all you really need to learn is vocab, and you can get a 5 pretty easily with REA’s Crash Course.

^100% agree with the post above. That’s what I’m doing. I’m pretty well-informed about politics so I just got the REA book to fill in my gaps.

I used the online AP courses at courserespository.com then PR to review. Here’s the link for AP Gov: [NROC Advanced Placement US Government and Politics](http://www.montereyinstitute.org/courses/AP%20Government%20and%20Politics/nroc%20prototype%20files/coursestartc.html)

I think you should be fine with PR, and maybe brushing up on important court cases/political events (esp. for the FRQ’s). This is probably moot at this point in the school year but I also found that taking APUSH at the same time as studying for AP Gov has been incredibly useful.
