Have your parents ever forced, or pushed you to study? If yes, is that the main reason why you're academically doing just fine?

I was never pushed by my parents, contrary to the asian stereotype, but still, I'm definitely not content of my current position. I'm barely in the top 25% of my class. Most of my peers that are in the top 5% or so have told me their parents have made a massive impact on their lives, academically speaking.

My parents really never pushed me, I just do the minimum work necessary for my classes to get good grades.

My parents used to push me. Then I stopped telling them when I had papers, tests, homework, etc.

^ lol same :)

^ Yep. 10char

My parents were really hard on me until 7th grade. Then I kind of pushed them out of my life. I almost failed that year, so I now have the motivation to study on my own :).

My parents never exactly pushed me, they just expected me to do well. I'm pretty much self-motivated. I've been self-motivated since kindergarten. I remember when I got my first "B" in the third grade. I cried. lol!

I guess they probably pushed me when I was little so that I would become self-motivated. I mean, self-motivation doesn't just up and happen, it has to originate from somewhere. But I don't remember anything.

About every quarter, my parents sit down and say, "how can you improve", then when I get a mix of A's and B's (mostly A-) then I hear about it again the next quarter.... they don't nag me enough
