Guidance Counselors send all ACT and SAT scores..

So I just found out today from my guidance counselors that they send ALL of my ACT and SAT scores to all colleges that I apply to.. I asked if I can choose which scores to report/not report, and they said that they do not do that. My SAT scores are pretty bad (1210CR+M) but my latest ACT is pretty good (31). Are my chances of getting into a good school ruined because the schools view all of my scores? Or will colleges just look at my total highest score of the two tests?

If all schools do this and this is a rather stupid question, forgive me haha. :p

Every college admissions officer in the country knows that some students will do much better on the SAT than on the ACT, and some will do better on the ACT than the SAT. After all, the exams are written by different companies and reflect different notions of what is important to test. Don’t worry about this one.

… and by the way, except in the whacky world of College Confidential, 1210 CR+M is not a bad score. It will get you into the vast majority of schools in the US.

Alright, thanks for the feedback! :)
