Ok, so I don’t have an instagram or facebook and I’m stressing about roommates. What should I do? I honestly just wanna leave my number somewhere for people to call up tbh.
@CollegeApplier57 I was a foreign exchange student in 2016 to Thailand for a full year and wrote about how I went to school there, worked as a waitress and barista in a local restaurant, and worked as an English teacher. It’s a lot more complex than that but my entire belief system is basically co-existence, open-mindedness, understanding and patience. For the supplement, I chose the prompt about open dialogue and talked about racism in a homogenous country, and how I faced that. Basically my attitude against bigotry and how yelling and spewing hatred at an issue or stance you don’t agree with is unproductive.

Since you applied ED, and I presume you were aware of the tuition when you applied, at least I hope you were, would you let us know how you intend to get out of your ED contract? And are you prepared to accept the consequences should you renege? Or did you really apply ED?
As far as FB goes for roommates, I think I found one just by going through the people on the group and messaging a a couple. I want to do a quad though.

@mcfreakinout if you don’t want to join social media groups the other option is to wait for Colonial Inauguration. Lots of students choose roommates from those that they meet at CI. Besides, you don’t even get to register for housing until after CI, so there’s no rush right now.
Does anyone know how the roommate selection process goes? When do I need to start worrying about that? When is CI?
there’s a facebook group and theres also a groupme that we’re all in ! we’ve all started chatting and looking for roommates on there! the groupme is linked on the facebook
@miseeire when you apply for housing you’ll indicate whether or not you have specific roommates in mind. If not, you’ll fill-out a questionaire about your preferences (where you want to study, when to have quiet hours, how important is cleanliness, etc) and those will be taken into account as much as possible. The system isn’t perfect but it’s better than completely random. Also, keep in mind that there are just as many people that end-up being unhappy with their roommates that they choose compared to those assigned by the school. You can only learn so much from someone online…
