wow i'm blinded by your amazing extra curricular activities and volunteering... thats really amazing. your sat scores are a bit low considering their middle 50 scores are 1260-1400 something (i forget). but since you are applying early decision that definitely will help your chances as well having had a good interview, i put the statistics from the college board below...

Number of early decision applications received: 1,943
Number admitted under early decision plan: 1,165

but as long as your essays were good i'd say you still have a good chance.

i see...but thanks for the good Encouragement. Actually my essay is about me helping out a family this past summer packing up their belongigns due to the isreali dissengagement ( in Gaza) it was an amazing and powerful experiance and i thought i wrote a very good essay

Bumppppppppppppppppppppppp...( please i gotta know so i can work on other applications )

this is the 35th time ive seen your post and youve had plenty of responses, now drop it

i havent had so many respnses i really need advice from alot of people

You have a good shot at GW ED1, but since you are not even in GW's SAT range, you should work on other applications (and finish most of them) because if you get deferred and havent done any other apps, you're not going to have an easy time turning around all of your other apps in the 2 weeks between 12/15 and the Reg decision deadline of 1/1.

u wont get in.

theres no such thing as a CPR and AED certified technician big guy...;)

and dont try to argue with me, i will win. You definatly fluffed alot of those EC's though...to be quite honest, i would probably be very very upset with a person like you if i knew you.

I would also appreciate it if you didnt lash back at me, you posted your stats wanting opinions and im giving them to you. No im not jealous, trust me I have my share of meaningful EC's and enough community service.

I just do not like dishonest people, which i am somewhat gathering from your post.

i sorta agree with doogie; if you meant nassau county, ny, i've never heard of the Nassau County Ultimate League or Nassau County Cemetery Restoration Project...?

"Holiday Toy Drive – Collection of toys for underprivileged children during the holiday season Coordinator

Nassau County Cemetery Restoration Project – Cleaned up various cemeteries throughout the county Participant

Hurricane Katrina Relief Group – Group that collected food, clothing, and other supplies after Hurricane Katrina Coordinator

just because you give an elmo doll doesnt mean it mean *****
cemetery restoration? is it an establishment or is it just something random that you claim to do
almost every single school and student contributed to the hurricane katrina relief group in someway...that doesnt mean it was volunteer work. giving some toileteries to a teacher gathering stuff is not volunteer.
do you have proof of visiting senior citizens? establishment?

look i can say that i go to the streets of ny every weekend and buy food and clothing for allt he homeless people, it doesnt mean crap

and look, we all go/went to highschool, we know bs when we see it, and guess what, so do admission offices

key club president- legitimate
amenesty international treasurer- legit
volunteer at ___ hopsital with certification- legit
participant in holiday food drive- no
contributor to katrina relief- no

and when you say co- coordinator, thats bs, teachers most likely do that considering students have no way to contact other schools in different states, countries or can manage finances

hey if youre going to put all that bs in your application, dont forget to write, Memorial Day Bake Sale Investor, Back to School pizza party provider on the list

i also notice how you put a bunch of EC's that are very ambiguous, unknown, and insignificant that it looks like you made them up or maybe not the exsistence of it, but it would be easy to act like you actually participate in it

"

good idea, ill make sure i was the "captain" of my rec basketball team

id be really surprised if gw was impressed with your ecs, face it youre state college material

Model UN
model congress
varsity tennis, winter track
physics olympics captain
student ambassadors club secretary

thank you for agreeing with me

I agree that some of the ECs are a little bit odd...(trying to be nice)...[references to deleted post edited out by Mod JEM] If you must criticize, please do it with tact and respect. Thank you.

ya ill have to admit, that was kind of...random and not really needed

I'm glad that you agree...remember, this site was meant to be a source of encouragement, information, and constructive criticism. And I place major emphasis on the word, constructive!

To be honest with you, I read through your EC's and thought you BS'd about half of them. Although I have no proof of this, i can definitely imagine GW admission officers thinking you're completely lying to them. BUT, although you lied (or at least I think you did), I think you had nothing to lose. Lying to get into a school like GW is awful since it could cause someone more deserving of a spot to get rejected, but the worst that will happen is you'll get rejected. In no way am I saying it's right, but I see where you're coming from. I think you would get in if you left out some EC's (you took it WAY too far to the point where they won't beleive you), but good luck getting in now...I doubt you will.

Long Island mom here (and Jewish)-- With a 3.3 and 1190 SAT's, I suggest you work on your other applications. EC's alone are not going to get you into a school if your grades and SAT's are below the average student range. And I have actually heard about cemetary restoration projects, but that and your other EC's ain't gettin you into GW without the grades and SAT scores. I hate to sound harsh, but you must use your time wisely and work on your other applications. ( I guess I do sound like a Jewish mother!!) Good luck.

i think that GW will appreciate your essay topic and your interest in current issues....your ECs are strong (yes, sometimes random) and your scores are not quite up there, lots of APs is good...

i was in top 11% with a 30 on ACT (perfect writing score) with TONS of leadership activities...the interviewer was in shock that i hadn't considered the writing program...they have like a 48% acceptance rate...i would find it hard to believe that you wouldn't get in. the interview going well means A LOT because (at least for me) the interviewer was the same person who would be reading my application. No one else basically has any say in the decision. So if he liked you then...he'll probably like you when he reads your app. I got into my 1st choice school already, but GW was my 2nd choice. Work on some other applications....but good luck!
