Right, so...

I've heard that St Andrews offers an excellent IR programme so it is my second choice after Georgetown (which, i think it's quite likely that I will be rejected)

However, a few days ago, I've got an offer from George Washington, Elliott School of International Affairs.

This was a completely unexpected offer (since I was missing a form, and thus I thought I wasn't considered) and now I am at a loss at which uni I should choose.

I know that St Andrews is good, but how good is it? Compared to Elliott School for example. I know that Elliott isn't quite the top school for studying IR but still, it is one of the best (behind Georgetown, Tufts and JHU I suppose)

Thanks in advance.....

I'm in a similar boat. I'm a junior but I am looking at both. However, I was homeschooled and that hurts my app with them. One thing I do know about them is that they offer somewhat different specializations within the IR field. Is there something specific you want to concentrate in? As far as education goes, I hear St.Andrews is a bit better. The Elliot school is better at the master's level because they don't have as much of an undergrad focus (of course I've just heard this from sources). However, you have to remember that where attend school isn't so much about education but name brand. So as to which looks better. . .I really can't tell you.

Hi,

can you elaborate that a bit more? For example, where you've heard about it and so on.. thanks

Any advice would be hugely helpful! Bump!
