Hi, CC, I know you guys are getting a lot of these right now, but I would appreciate any input about any of these schools.
I am looking to major in International Relations and potentially double major or minor in Econ.

I have been accepted to these schools: -American University -Boston College -Fordham University -NYU -UCLA -UCSD -George Washington University -SMU -St. Andrews (Scotland) -Macalester

I have narrowed it down to UCLA, GW, NYU, St. Andrews, BC and UCLA. And like I said I'm looking to international relations and econ and going to grad school or law school after undergrad.

Cost is also not an issue.

Any input to help my choice would be appreciated!

UCLA / NYU / GW are the three that stand out - it’ll come down to your preference. All pretty decent choices.

Even though cost isn’t an issue, you still want to make sure you’re getting good relative value.

Given GW’s international relations program is ranked highly but there also GT and SAIS to compete with in regards to opportunities in DC.

UCLA is pretty versatile outside of international relations, while the two are more known for other specialties (IR, finance, policy, etc.).

Thanks, Johnny H! I’ll take into account the competitiveness to get internships and such in DC. Also, St. Andrews is a top IR school, do you think it is worth it over GW/NYU/UCLA?

Strictly speaking from IR, it’s definitely not worth it over GW. Even if some people rank it higher.

NYU and UCLA are also better overall schools than St. Andrews, even if their IR dept is lower ranked. I think you’d be best served with a school that is good overall (for flexibility) and that also has a good IR dept.
