GW or Hamilton?

Ok, I know these two schools are polar opposites, but I need some help. Any suggestions?

Hamilton, better rep as a LAC as compared to GW as a NU.

Well each school is attractive in different ways. What are you interested in majoring in? What do you want out of a school? What are you concerns (campus, environment, financial)? If you give the board more details, I'm sure somebody, including myself, will respond with their opinions.

I am sure Hamilton is a very strong school academically, and there are tons of reasons to go there, but I disagree with the poster who said that Hamilton has a better reputation. It may be better as a LAC than GW is as an national university, but quite frankly, the vast majority of liberal arts colleges just don't have the household names of GW/syracuse/bu/nyu-type schools. Whether this is fair or not is another issue, but national universities are just better known in general. When you're applying for a job, I think that most employers tend to go for the big-name schools OR the big state schools. If you're choosing between Georgetown and GW, obviously Georgetown has a better reputation... but LACs are a whole different story.

Also, for grad school admissions, GW is lucky to have a lot of strong graduate/law/business programs. Even if you don't end up staying at GW for grad school, other grad schools are well aware of GW's strength.
