GW vs. American?

I've decided to rule out my other two choices - which were much more prestigious to save myself some money. Both of these schools have offered me 20k a year which is decent. That is pretty much all of the aid that I'm getting. I'd rather save myself the 40k more it would cost for grad school.

I'm thinking of doing business (pretty sure on this one) with a possible double major in photography or design of some sort. I think that a double major would be valuable. Which school would be better for this?

Hmm, I would have said GW in a heartbeat if you hadn’t mentioned you want to do business. American’s Kogod is ranked very well; I’m not even sure if the GW B-school is ranked. Just food for thought.

It depends on which rankings you look at…

Regardless of rankings, locally (i.e., in DC) Kogod is generally considered better than GW’s business school although, overall as a university, GW is considered slightly better. In either case, the difference is not substantial and therefore most people with the choice decide on non-academic factors such as how important is a campus to you or, conversely, how close to the city’s center do you want to be?

Do internship experience and GPA vary more into the equation in getting a job?

Also, is it possible to double major at these schools? Also, does a second major add value at all?

I’d go to GW. American isn’t respected as much, locally or nationally.

GW’s Business School is also ranked higher in all regards, including a great international business program.

Anyone know about double majoring?

Also, does being in Honors at American make a bit of difference?

Bump? Any other opinions?
