Hello! I’m an in-state UNC applicant with a strong app, so I feel confident I’ll get in there and UVA. I think, too, I’ll get into George Washington, so I’m weighing the ability of these schools to propel me into a career in DC. I want to work in politics and lobbying, so does the prestige of UNC/UVA outweigh the connections and proximity of GW? Which, in your experience, is going to be best given I hope to work in politics? Thanks!
come back next spring when you have the acceptances and financial aid offers. (UVa is extremely difficult from OOS, and GW can be pricey even with merit aid.)
In-state UNC is probably the best thing you can do. You can’t beat the cost for the prestige you get with UNC. Anyone in NC who has the grades and capabilities to get into UNC at in-state price should always consider that choice. It is honesty a blessing to have that sort of flagship school in your state if you can get in.
