Hi. I want to major in Chemistry w/ a Pre-Med track and I was wondering if anyone could give me some insight about which school could serve me better. You can talk about why you like SMU, why you hate SMU, why you like GW, why you hate GW, which school will serve me better as a Pre-Med major and which school could give me the most opportunities and internships.

I’m actually not sure what GW stands for, but I go to SMU and some of my friends here are pre-med. Here at SMU pre-med is a track, not a major, which could give you greater flexibility in the future. You are given a pre-med advisor in addition to your normal academic advisor, who will make sure you are on track for taking the GMAT and applying for medical schools. SMU has a good relationship with UT Southwestern. One of my pre-med friends graduated last May and was accepted into CASE Western in Ohio. He really likes it there and feels like SMU prepared him well. I believe about 65-70% of our pre-med students are accepted into med school, which is higher than the national average. Hope that helps!
