GW vs. UT Austin

Hey guys I was wondering if you can give me some pros and cons for each school. I hope to have a good time, have a good GPA and go into a top law school.

Well...considering im from Texas and I chose GW over UT Austin..heres my thought process...if you're into politics dc trumps austin by a long shot. If you're into live music...austin is probably better theres always stuff goin on down there but i hear dc has a good music scene too. I chose GW partially because the Middle Eastern Studies program at Texas consists of 80 students (most who drift into the program from other majors within the liberal arts college). At GW MES is apart of the Elliott School and being able to study international affairs in the capitol with all the government departments was very enticing. Also, GW really emphasizes internships and the study abroad option and the internship opportunties are endless in dc. At Texas, you're basically on your own with internships and the study abroad options arent as numerous. Honestly, they are two different schools even though they are both in capitol cities. Texas is a massive state school where the athletic program is a big part of the culture and if you enjoy sports and partying and just having a good time while taking advantage of Texas' flagship school then its a great place to be. But, if you're into politics, are intent on getting the practical experience as an undergrad to have a career in whatever field you choose, and want to take advantage of all the opportunties that the nations capitol offers, then GW is for you. GW isn't near as big as Texas although it is a decent sized school. You'll be able to find a good time at both schools. It really depends on location, how much you're willing to pay, and whether you want that practical experience in my opinion.
