GWU: Double major at different schools?

Hi everyone.

Is it possible to double major in a subject at the Columbian College of Art/Sciences AND the Elliot School?

Thanks!

Is not impossible, but GW is not an easy school at all, and every course demands a lot of work, writing, research, etc, so take that into consideration.

It is definitely possible to double major across schools, but there are GCR requirements for your own school and credit requirements and restrictions for both your school and the school of the other major, so you should check those out in the University Bulletin. The Hatchet reported in September that 15% of all students at GW pursue double majors, but I don't know how many of those are across schools. According to admissions, it is very possible to double major across schools and graduate in four years, but you should start planning freshman year.

I have a friend who wanted to do a double major but got so overwhelmed with taking all the requirements that she ending up majoring in elliot and just going a minor in columbian. It IS a lot of work, and you won't be able to take advantage of elective classes like you would otherwise, but yes, it IS possible.
