GWU Early Decision 1 2019

No they found out on the 19th and they had major issues with Common App and Naviance. Usually it has been before the deadline. In sure they’ll get it to us by Friday hopefully.

ohh I wasn’t sure lol. I just wanna find out because I can’t wait any longer !!

Oh my God me too. I have been anxious for weeks.

The GW Admissions Twitter just responded to someone’s tweet and said: “Currently, we don’t have any notification e-mail scheduled for today - sorry for the misinformation. We have no set date yet”

I feel like we’re never going to get it.

just called (12/15 at 11 am) and they said they don’t have a specific date yet but we will get an email alerting us the day of saying that it will be up on the portal that day. hopefully it will come soon! good luck to everyone!

oh and they said it will definitely be before christmas

Hey Guys - I’m willing to bet it will be Wednesday 12/17! ED 1 notification was definitely on a Wednesday in both 2011 and 2012 (portal went live at 6pm); I don’t recall last year’s notification date! So take a deep breath and wait for the email. Good luck to all…GW is a great school and offers outstanding opportunities!

hey guys- how am i supposed to get access to this portal? what is this portal? would they email us letting us know to check online instead of the decision?

The GW Admissions portal is where GW keeps track of all of the applicant’s required documents. The portal also announces your admissions decision. In the past, the email has been used to alert the applicant of the timing of the admisssions decision. I don’t recall how to obtain your personal entry code…call GW Admissions to ask for your code. And check to be certain that your documents have all been received!

is this the portal that everyone is talking about?

Yes @sebtaylor2‌

I can’t handle this. Has anyone else not been able to sleep?

yes for sure @nervousascanbe‌! i’m totally with you. it’s all i can think about. it’s especially hard when a bunch of my friends have just got rejected from their top schools already

do we think the 64% acceptance rate for ED last year was just an anomaly or could the same thing happen again this year?

@luckyshanrock‌ it went up to 64 because that was the first year that gw made the switch to common app exclusive which made them accept more Ed applicants since less people applied overall. I think the rate should go down with an influx of more applications unfortunately.

We shouldn’t expect it to return to its previous rate though as it is still Common App exclusive. It’s hard to say but my guess is somewhere in between.

how do we know the amount of applicants has increased? yeah i agree it is hard to speculate but I can’t see them returning to their previous rate of in the 40s

this one and 1/2 month suspense is becoming all too much to handle. Let us off this ride

preach it @normanthedoorman‌ i’m ready to enjoy my senior year!
