Just found this thread! Nice to see that I’m not the only nervous one who has refreshed my email a million times in the last two days! Good luck to everyone!
@CarlosSouza @gwhopefully @TStonebarger Welcome!! What school did you all apply to within GW?
Best friend got into Princeton and I’m over hear still caring about school and grades (not actually)
Finally made a College Confidential account to join the discussion! I applied Early Decision 1 to GW and my friend (a freshman at GW) got an email saying that they’ll be welcoming the class of 2020 soon! She thinks we’ll hear on Friday at 6 pm
Guys I’m so nervous I have butterfly’s in my stomach like 24/7
@hollyzimmerman98 - Just breathe and try to not think about it! I’m nervous too but I keep watching Netflix to forget about it; we can’t make it come any faster!
On the other hand, has anybody started to think about second options? Where else are you guys applying?
I don’t have the GPA for any of the better International Relation programs so I think I may just go to JC in my state (California) and transfer later on. Or I may apply to another school for Political Science, I just haven’t decided
@HeyItsNick I got accepted into Villanova earlier today so I’ll be there if not accepted to GW
Congrats, @phstogwu!!! At-least you will have a stress free holiday regardless of GW’s decision!
@HeyItsNick I was accepted to Santa Clara University (my 2nd choice) yesterday so if (God forbid) I get deffered or denied I’ll probably end up there
@phstogwu I applied for the school of Public Health! For their exercise science major with the focus in pre-med. @HeyItsNick I also applied to American (2nd choice), Northeastern (3rd choice) and 10 others! But still have my heart set on GW!
@GWAdmissions Twitter page just tweeted: “Congratulations to the first 10 #GWU @possefoundation scholars. Welcome them to the Colonial community!”
So the first 10 people are in to the Class of 2020! But, when do we get to hear?
Under financial aid items on the portal mine now has a check mark next to the early decision app and says “waived” … Does anyone know if that means anything?
Saw the same thing on my portal so I called them and they said they had enough information and didn’t need that document to evaluate your financial aid award. Not sure if it’s a good or bad thing.
Ok thanks! Hope it’s not bad…
I was freaking out because I thought it meant that I didn’t get in so they didn’t even need to look at my financial aid documents.
That was my first thought also. I guess we’ll find out tomorrow!
I applied to American (2nd choice), Richmond (3rd choice) and Dickinson and was already accepted into Temple but I think if I don’t get into one of my top 3 I will travel for a year and then reapply to them
If it does not say “waived” on financial aid for early decision application, I wonder what that means?
Mine says received because I actually sent mine in. If you sent it, it will say received if it says waived it means you didn’t send it in and they have enough info for financial aid or means you might not be getting any.
