So long, long time ago I applied to GWU Honors College because
1. It was there- Not a valid reason, but you know..
2. I wanted to get to get the best education possible and didn't mind sacrificing time on the essays
3. I thought I had pretty good stats and could get in
4. From what they said on the website, they seem to be good at offering trips/opportunities for students to expand their mental horizons and they have an Eonisian scholars program to help people get grants/awards like Fullbright/Rhodes

However, I wonder how good the GWU program really is behind all the admissions website.

I can’t really speak on how good it is, but it’s important to note that its a honors program instead of an honors college. The difference is that really all your classes are the same except for only a few will be honors. At GW it is not at all necessary to be in the honors colleges in order to get opportunities or a great education.

Agree with Aaron

My “S” in is the ESIA’s and his schedule actually worked out better NOT being in the honors program. He was able to take some of the schools best professors that win the annual best teacher awards (e.g. Prof Bruce Dickson - PSC).

Also, in Elliott, you can still graduate with honors in your major, e.g. International Affairs.
