Hey everybody,

I'm not sure if everyone knows this or not but [expensive] schools are now required to create Net Price Calculators by law. They factor in your financial information (GWU's is very involved) and spit you out an "estimated" award for financial aid.

Now the validity of this is probably more accurate than the "FAFSA 4caster" because it was created by GWU, but that does not mean it is completely accurate. So take it with a grain of salt, but i believe it's the closest reading you are going to get to Fin Aid.

Now for the ED applications. I saw a post that some people are concerned about applying ED because of financial aid. If you use this, it will give you a good idea of what kind of aid you could be looking out (it even breaks down grants, loans, fed aid). The Financial Aid Department said they do not take into consideration ED/EDII/RD when you are applying for Financial Aid (though merit aid is a completely different story). You will get the same amount either way.
