So how bad of an idea is this new points system? I realize they don't want freshman showing up to football games 20 minutes late, no one does, but your 40th maize t shirt as incentive won't persuade anyone. These points should have been linked to how close you sit the next year.

The point system is showing up around campuses nationwide for better or worse. I’m sure they will see how it works and tinker with it to achieve their objectives. You may not notice it but the student section can be half empty during the first half of football games and often is not full during non-premium games.

I know its not full, but i just dont think this is the best way to go about solving that

I think it’s almost as pathetic as the home schedule this year. This is a school, and if I don’t enjoy field hockey, so what? Maybe I’ll go and get homework done, that will please them no doubt. Those taking upper level engineering and premed classes have more important things to do. Tying it to seats (as if anyone sits where they’re told) will just drive them off.

The incentives are laughable, I’m not getting a smart phone nor showing up when they tell me to just for this, and I can just imagine the line to check in at the stadium. Coulda just scanned our mcard like other places do. It’s like they’ve never heard of spoofing or walking out once you check in.

If they want students to show up on time, don’t schedule crap like Delaware St at noon. If kickoffs were at times as undesirable for alums, say midnight, you will see empty seats in their places too. Yes, I’m calling for midnight kickoffs just to stop the whining about this by the down in front crowd.

Can you explain? What point system? And how does it work?

I don’t understand why you’re getting so upset about it, steellord. It’s entirely optional. Just don’t do it…

go there for info

I would have been irate if they had made something like this tied to seats when I was attending. I don’t have a smart phone! If it’s just for fun, what the hell, why not…
