"We're projecting that number to be somewhere between 13 or 14,000 for student ticket numbers this year," Michigan associate athletic director of media and public relations Dave Ablauf said. "(That number was at) about 19,000 last year. We don't have a finalized number (yet), that's just an approximation because all the incoming freshmen haven't put in their orders yet.

"But we know that returning student numbers are down."

Ablauf maintained that Michigan's general attendance numbers, not including the students, are on track to remain as normal.

I think this is a really shoddy article but interesting none the less. Thoughts?

Is it any wonder?

With the schedule they play and an incompetent imbecile like Hoke at the helm, do you expect any different?

With the schedule, the $300 price tag, and still fresh memories of the awful general admissions BS I can’t say I blame the students. Not to mention just generally treating the students like crap

I still bought my tickets. I even get Super Fan seating!

Wow, such negativity. First of all, bashing a coach is fine among uncouth and trashy fans, but not among classy Michigan fans. Not liking the coach is one thing, berating or denigrating him publicly is another. We’re Wolverines, not hooligans!

Secondly, $300 for 7 home games is peanuts. One can easily attend 3-4 the games and sell the remaining 3-4 tickets for $150-$200. Homecoming tickets are always popular with alums and can easily be sold for $75-$100, depending on how well Michigan is doing.

I paid $50 each for 2 additional OSU student tickets last season Alexandre. Ticket prices depend on how the team is doing and on the game. People aren’t going to pay $200 to see a bad Michigan team play some crappy FBS or FCS team, especially if you have to validate the tickets.

Fastsquirrel, where did I say that you can sell a ticket for $200? I said that you can sell 3-4 tickets for $150-$200. That is perfectly achievable. Alums do not care about who we play. They visit Ann Arbor once in a while and just want to go to a game. The homecoming tickets can go for $75, the other tickets for $30-$50 depending on one’s luck and on the type of season Michigan is having.

Will it be harder for students to sell their tickets when they are single reserved seats? Someone who wants to sit with someone else wouldn’t be able to do that.

Alexandre, I took it to mean 150-200$ a piece when I first read it. My mistake.
