@Smartisan5 , Hamilton does not offer engineering on its campus, but it has combined multiyear engineering programs with other schools (Dartmouth, Columbia, RIT, WUSTL). You will need to spend some time researching the schools to which you were admitted on their websites before selecting one.
@TheGreyKing Thank you for your advice, but can you explain a little further about what you mean by “researching the schools to which you were admitted on their website before selecting one”
S accepted, great school, also accepted to Davidson and several others. He has some very good choices. Good luck everyone. We loved Hamilton
@Smartisan5 I think they meant going onto the school’s website and sifting through their major pages. For me, I’ve been going into politics and international relations sections and looking at major requirements, courses offered, size, etc. You can also do this with housing, student activities, sports, etc. For Hamilton, it would be really important for you to understand their 3/2 engineering program before you began.
@Fangirl1999 I was looking through the Hamilton website for engineering, and I do understand about 3/2 engineering program, but I feel it is not guaranteed for you to able to enter Columbia university( there seem to another admission process for that after you finished two year study at Hamilton) So, if after two years at Hamilton, they don’t select me into the 3/2 program, will that mean that I will not be graduating with a engineering degree??? This is my biggest concern.
You also can reach out to Hamilton and ask them about the combined engineering programs to see if these programs will meet your needs.
@Smartisan5 : You need to do further research, which, quite literally, should only take a few minutes. But, in brief, 1) Hamilton offers a joint engineering program with several schools, not just Columbia (pre-engineering would be completed at Hamilton, followed by focused engineering courses at the partner school); 2) Admission to these programs would be contingent upon a set of defined requirements; 3) Hamilton, by itself, would not offer you an engineering degree.
Accepted!
@merc81 like you stated there are requirements that you have to qualify in order to enter the partner schools for focused engineering courses, what if by any chance I don’t meet these requirement, then I will never graduate with a engineering degree, then I put myself into a risky situation.
@Smartisan5: Technically, even if you did not succeed as 3-2 or 2-1-1-1 cooperative engineering student, you could, with sufficient pre-engineering courses at Hamilton, pursue a master’s degree in the engineering discipline of your choice, so you would not be fully leveraged along any particular path. That said, your choice of whether to attend Hamilton should be made with all of these factors in mind.
Accepted with 32.25 ACT and 100.04 GPA.

We will definitely do the accepted student day as she did not have the chance to visit before she applied.
Hi,
I am an International Student who applied to Hamilton in RD. Just wanted ask how does the college send decisions ? because all my friends got their through my Hamilton Portal but I have not recieved any email or update on the portal. None of the friends who recieved the decision got admitted, all got waitlisted or rejected.
So does Hamilton send acceptances like Colgate does ( Via Mail)
@astro11 im an international rd applicant and i received my acceptance through my portal few days ago. Maybe u can contact the admissions department?
How many international students are going to Hamilton?
@astro11 I’m an international student who got accepted to Hamilton. Got notified via the portal
@athlete101 I’m attending!
Anyone else here been accepted as a Jan? I’m thinking of doing a study abroad program through Hamilton but I’m not sure how selective they are.
Hi Collbeez! My son has been admitted as a Jan and is applying to the London program. There is an application with an essay, but I heard from someone at Hamilton that all of their students who have applied have been accepted in the past, IF they applied in a timely way. My son is excited, but a bit intimidated by the fact that there is no meal plan. He is on the facebook group for Jans, but basically never uses FB. Maybe you two will meet at the August orientation? Congratulations on your acceptance!
