Hamilton ED1 Class of 2020

noo it hasn’t. their lack of communication is freaking me out even more. @collegepappy has yours?

@hamihopeful nope. i have a gut feeling it’s bad news :’( :’( :’(

same here. I am dying over here!!! :(( it’s only 34 hours away. and yes I’m obsessing! once again GOOD LUCK everyone!!!

good luck everyone! regardless of your college decision, have a great future. I know the college decision might seem like everything right now, but even if it’s a rejection letter, life has to move on. (And this is actually coming from me–someone who’d be emotionally annihilated after the inevitable decision is out)

it’s very close now :’(

11 hours 55 minutes

8 hours 10 minutes Ohhh myyy GOD

didn’t get in </3

I’m sorry to here that.

The same haha. It’s not the end of the world. I wish you luck in the application process and in life.

You’re just meant to be in some place else.

Didn’t get in either :frowning:

Deferred as my screen name suggests. Being deferred is much worse than being rejected. Why not just reject me?

probably because you still have a shot @deferredkid goodluccck

probably because you still have a shot @deferredkid goodluccck

Well thanks but due to medical reasons and personal issues I’ve really been struggling in classes this year. My chance to get admitted to a good school is probably close to zero at this point

@deferredkid im going through the exact same thing. its alright youll make it!

@Amber1245 thanks, same with you!! Wish you and everyone reading this comment the best of luck with RD applications. If you got in, congrats and to all, just realize that you are unique, special, and it’s not a number or one mere acceptance that defines you as a person. The fact that they couldn’t recognize the amazingness that they lost when they denied/deferred you is Hamilton’s loss only. I just wish I could realize that myself :frowning:

@deferredkid Try to focus on your academic. Deferral is always better than rejection. You still have a shot. Grab it. I hope you can achieve our unfinished dream haha.

To other rejected peers: It’s Hamilton’s loss that it hasn’t realized our values. It’s not done yet. College is just a beginning. Wish you (and me) the best in our future endeavors.

To the (future) admitted kids: I envy you. Be honored.

I got deferred to the regular decision pool too. does anybody here know what % of the ED applicant pool usually gets deferred to RD, and again what % of the deferred applicants get admitted? should I be any hopeful?

So I spoke with my college counselor and he said I was deferred (POTENTIALLY) due to my first term (second marking period out of three) senior year grades (2.9 due to medical reasons), and @collegepappy it may be the same for you. Regardless, they should keep in mind that you applied ED. Being deferred means, I believe, that you’ve got a good shot, you’ve just got to prove to them that you can keep up the good (or improve the bad, in my case) work.

Just for some reference, I applied ed last year to Hamilton, got deferred, and then rejected in RD. Hamilton doesn’t release statistics on the number of students they defer or what percentage of deferred students get accepted in RD. That being said, RD round is usually more competitive in terms of applicants and acceptance rate. You should hope for the best but you should focus on other college apps at this point.

A deferall can be a brutal process because you have to wait basically 4 more months to find out, but it at least means Hamilton is interested enough in you to compare you to the RD round.

Good luck to all and happy holidays.
