I can tell from experience because I go to Whitney High as a junior. I can count at least 6 who have received 2300+ (not including me). To tell you the truth, there are so many people in the 2100-2290 range that these scores are considered "mediocre" or "pretty good" at best. As a result of this seemingly rabid competition, there are quite a few people that choose to take academies such as Han Sam, TSI (The Savant Institute), Elite, and Gateway (to name a few). Honestly, these people probably don't need to attend these summer "boot camps," but they only do it because of the "encouragement" (more likely, coercion) of their parents. Obviously some of these parents have inanely high standards and would not be satisfied with their child receiving a sub-2300 score, and thus they lured into sending their children to places like Han Sam with the hopes of achieving a certain score...

Kinda crazy, I know.

BTW to the OP, most of the people I know that went to an academy (personally I chose to prepare without the aid and cost of an academy) chose the other ones I listed (most went to TSI). So, if you are considering taking a SAT academy in the area, you might want to consider the other options.

Hi, first off my name is Aaron and i've worked at Han Sam SAT for 3 Years. People say that kids form whitney are all smart. NOT TRUE. Whitney tests kids when they are in 6th grade in the elementary schools throughout Cerritos and ask for 90 percentile to be eligible to be chosen to attend this "prestigious" school. That does not mean you'll get a 2200. Most of the students with these 2200+ scores started off with a 40% on the Diagnostic test (Consists of 30 problems, 10 per subject (Writing, CR, Math). These review tests are problems strictly from the homework and tests already graded WITH ANSWERS AND EXPLANATIONS (Up to the student to review before given a review test which also consists of 30 problems.) If you are trying to go to TSI, this academy is a branch off of Gateway. The teachers broke off from gateway stole their materials and made the academy. and one of their advertised students Jay Kumar was Han Sam's student paid off to be used on their academy advertisement. Our academy has a guaranteed program but we as WORKERS recommend the 10 week program which is only $1450 because students who actually do their homework can easily achieve a 90 percentile on their review tests. Please do not assume anything about business' because their success has been tested for years OBVIOUSLY. Han sam has been open since 1993. So stop your Bll*** and for those who say CAUCASIANS ARENT EVEN GOING THERE. Dude we dont list all the high scores, one of ur "Caucasian" friends scored a 2350 from Asuza High School who attended Han Sam for only 10 weeks so please inquire through us at 562) 809 - 2070 instead of people who have a little or no information on our academy.

I went to HanSam Academy, but I won't say my name. I was in 10 day-intensive course during summer vac, and I recommand this academy with passion. My score was 1790 on January test; on Oct test I got 2100 (couldve got better score if I wasn't being lazy after the program haha) If any of the employees see this, say hi to won jang nim / mook sa nim for me =) Oh ,and is Roi still there? I wanna see him again haha

Excuse me?
WHY would Caucasian testimonies count for more than Asian testimonies?
As far as I know, Asians are just as trustworthy as Caucasians IMHO.

lols it costs money to make the materials and hire teachers for each subject and the cost of the rent of the building and to make a living lols obviously people charge a certain amount but you can check to see that 2050 for 15 weeks is cheap compared to other academies out there. Were not out to steal peoples money, we're just trying to make a living and what business survives off of charging someone less than 1450 for 10 weeks? Go to private schools they charge 20000 to 100000 a year depending o nwhat school it is. They dont teach you how to get even a 1600 lols they teach you moral ethics and cheesy mathematics that get you into a community college or a cal state at best lols

Two grand for a class series is nothing compared to some of the really hardcore tutoring. I know private tutors who charge a $1000 for a one hour class.
