Happy Thanksgiving to the JHU Forum

It has honestly been a great time talking with you guys for the past few months on our journey to college. I hope everyone has a great time during your holiday and during winter break. Although I do not celebrate Christmas and Thanksgiving, I just love the spirit and kindness everyone has during these days, furthermore I just love you guys. Lastly, everything will be alright, I think it's time for no more crazy-breaking-down posts, let's just enjoy the last winter of our high school career =)

Is there something else that your family celebrates during this time of the year?

We celebrate several holidays in August and November, namely some are: Diwali (Indian New Years), RakshaBandan (Sisters/Cousin Sisters tie bracelets around their Brothers, it was a tradition when Men would go to war and their Sisters would tie the bracelet for good luck), Bai Bheej (When brothers and sisters from a family get together and just celebrate, don't really know the actual reason). There is other stuff too, all religiously oriented, however I am not at all very religious. I respect the Indian culture very much, it's just so spirited, as well as other cultures. As for December we do not celebrate anything other than New Years. However, there are many Indian families that celebrate Christmas and Thanksgiving (even though they are Hindu) because of the season and I guess to be more assimilated (usually for the kids, since they see their friends in the holiday atmosphere).
