hard question by Italian student:Maturita' exam equivalent and importance in US

Alright now….this is kind of a hard question….let’s start from the basics; I’ll keep it as simple as possible.
1) 17 year-old Italian born in Italy
2) Lived in America for 2 years ( ages 4-5) and England for 5 years ( ages 9-14)
3) Attended high school in Italy, Naples in an International School called the “ International School of Naples”, which allowed me to receive a Diploma which is basically the equivalent of an American Diploma.
Now: this American diploma would theoretically allow me to attend Uni in the States. However, to expand my horizons, I have recently received a Diploma which basically translated my American grade, into an Italian grade…100 on the Maturita’ exam.

My question is simple: does anyone know how such a thing would be evaluated? Does anyone have any information regarding this sort of thing?

PS. Please bear in mind that the aforementioned information is strictly concise and brief…if you have any questions..don’t hesitate to ask.
Thank you in advance

I am confused… So you got the equivalent of an American high school diploma, found out that that corresponds to a certain achievement in the Italian school system and now you are asking what that Italian credential is worth in the US? Am I missing something???

What sort of diploma did you receive from the International School in Naples? Did you do the IB or take AP exams or anything of that sort?

But to answer the question in your title: many colleges are willing to give you some transfer credit for the Italian Maturita. How much credit you get will depend on the specific subjects you were tested in. A few colleges also require that you were in school for 13 years because they generally do not give any transfer credit for 12 years or less of primary and secondary school work, regardless of how advanced it is.
