ok im deciding on UCR, CPP, SDSU .. im planning to major on mechanical engineering. i know pomona is maybe the "best" but how do the others compare ?

Does UCR or SDSU teach the same quality classes as pomona in engineering?

What is the workload for that major ? will it burn me out in the long run ?
i want to have some freetime to enjoy college life and how are the dorms?

can i even make these schools ? my GPA is 3.87

Pomona “is” the best for mechanical engineering out of all these schools. However, you’ll find that the quality classes and workload will be very similar. All these schools will require you to take Engineering Physics, Statics, Thermodynamics, and etc. Visit each campus and see which school you think you’ll be happy at because I think that’s the most important factor when deciding on which college you want to go to.

I guess the biggest factors will be the campuses and how i like them. The quality of work and educational should be the same so I’ll base my choice on each campus.

Also, Cal Poly is closer to downtown LA, beaches, and it’s right next to city called “Industry”–where there are tons of internship opportunities for your major.

They’re relatively the same when it comes to their engineering department. Its all about your preference to be honest.

When it comes to CPP vs UCR its not a simple yes or no answer. You’re going to have to research further. Though I will point out that UCR is seen as more ‘prestigious’ because of the UC system. On the other hand, I heard CPP is known for their crazy employment rate of their engineering students after graduation.
