Hard Time Securing Summer Internship/Job

<p>I decided to find a summer internship/job, but am having a hard time securing one. I interviewed with a number of large major companies during Fall and Spring semester, but didn't make second rounds.</p>

<p>I got several more job related interviews for paid internships or jobs in the past two weeks but they decided to move to other candidates. I applied for jobs on all the online major search engines and used my university's search engine. I have done numerous mock interviews and most employees say my interview skills are good and the only other thing is hope that someone will take a chance on me.</p>

<p>I'm planning on doing unpaid internships like last summer, but I even having a more difficult time even finding a job in retail this summer. I thought the economy was better than last summer. I even began to apply for jobs an hour away and out of state.</p>

<p>Any advice on securing a summer internship/job?</p>

<p>My daughter has had trouble the past two summers as well. She is doing an unpaid internship, again.</p>

<p>My advice…get on the list for temp agencies and online job search sites. Apply for jobs that need summer help:camps, tutoring, campus work that has to do with incoming and prospective students. Good luck.</p>
