having a hard time getting an internship

<p>I've been having a hard time getting an internship/summer job. I applied to a bunch and have already been rejected from 3. I had one interview for a summer job tutoring middle/high school kids in math, and thats about it. Many of the internships on my school's career services site are for finance/investment banking, because of my schools location. I don't really have much of an interest in those. I'm mostly looking for more for cs stuff/programming, since I'm a math and computer engineering double major.</p>

<p>I’ve applied to about 10. They are mostly located in NYC and a few at home. My school is in the city and I really want to stay in the city this summer.</p>
