AP Language tests are either the easiest or the hardest-- depending on whether you are native speaker or not. I was looking at an AP Spanish practice book a couple of days ago and was like OMG WHAT IS THIS WHY headfloor I’ll be taking it next year… I think it may be the hardest one I’ll ever take. I’m not taking Physics though.

Taken from easiest to hardest:

Calculus BC - very very very easy curve
Biology - actually did some studying, but hey, if you can memorize 3/4 of Barron’s, you’re guaranteed a 5+
Environmental Science - a repeat of Bio
World History - not tricky but FRQ were a pain; wrote sth like 17 pages for the three essays
Art History - memorization to its max… a lot more unpredictable than other memory-intensive subjects like Bio or History
English Language - maybe because I’m not a native speaker.

As an IB Diploma student as well, I can say that AP English Language seems to be the only course that’s harder compared to the respective IB HL course (though I haven’t taken the exams yet, the mocks I’ve seen require a lot more essay-writing and analysis).

Hard: AP USH, Engl Lang, Engl Lit
Moderate:Gov,Calc AB
AP’s were a failure for me

Lol sadly my hardest were really easy subjects: Macroeconomics and Government. While the “hard” ones have been really easy for me. But then again, I have yet to take Chem, so next week I’ll find out if “hard” AP exams are easy for me while “easy” ones are hard.

I agree, very subjective. I found BC Calc difficult as hell and breezed through APUSH. I guess I’m a more history-oriented person.

EASY:
I thought Bio(used Cliffnotes) and World History(used PR and Barrons) were laugable, I finished the world MC half way through lol.

HARD:
English Language, because of SOME of its MC passages, and the stupid second essay. APUSH was definetly hard on the MC, and it had a weird time period for the DBQ. On the MC I felt that it did not have a great selection, because it was bias toward a few time periods neglecting to get the entire spectrum of US history.

EASY: BIO, World
HARD: Eng Lang, APUSH

easy- Calculus AB, World
hard- English Lit

I would argued that the Euro History multiple choice this year was rather challenging. The Lit MC was a complete joke (I don’t want to say anything about essay performance but writing is my strength). The Stats multiple choice was moderate and the free response was easier than anything I’ve seen in my class. I’m an English/History guy though so I don’t want to jump to conclusions about Stats.

Easiest from what I’ve taken - European History
Hardest from what I’ve taken - U.S. History

Weird.

Easiest: English Lit, English Language, Comparative Government, US Gov, Environmental, World history (haven’t received score)
Hardest: Guessing (haven’t received my score for these yet)…Calc BC… **AP FRENCH LANGUAGE*

easiest to hardest for me:

calculus ab, spanish lit, gov, english lang, spanish lang, latin lit, us history, physics b

spanish language is HARD (and it is my FIRST language and it’s my main language at home)
I still pulled a 5 on it obviously.
but for someone who’s not a native speaker, it must suck.
especially because the curve is so sh1tty because of all the native speakers that take it.
Spanish lit, on the contrary is not that hard (if you’ve done all the readings it’s pretty easy)

easiest: chinese
hardest: computer science (not that its hard but I have only taken these 2 tests lol)

A lot of people find APUSH hard huh? Weird, I feel pretty confident I got a 5 and I basically slept all year and then started studying a month or so before the test.

I’ve only taken English Language and APUSH, and I’d say it’s a toss up. APUSH I was more sure on my multiple choice but I think I was more confident on my essays in Lang. I feel like both were wayyyyyy easier than they should have been compared to past exams I’d looked at

I’ll let you know my rankings after the 7 or 8 I take next year lol.

Easiest: English Language, by far. The MC was so much easier than any of the practice stuff I’ve done, and the essays weren’t half bad either.

Hardest: Physics B. It’s probably because it was the only exam I took where I didn’t have the AP course to supplement it. My school only offers regular physics, not AP. I definitely thought it was tough. Particularly the FRQs. They’d combine concepts, like circuits, combined with electric fields, combined with kinematics into one big problem. They made sure that if you were weak in any subject area, they’d get you for it. Plus, I didn’t know any stuff about slit light experiments, so I had to leave a whole question blank. We’re just learning about it now. It sucked.

Easiest: AP US Gov, APUSH, AP Lit
Hardest: AP Macro Econ

Now that I am done with all my AP tests, except US gov because of late testing, which I don’t even care that much about, here is my ranking from easiest to hardest:

Microecon, Calc (AB or BC), Macroecon, Music Theory, Chem, Physics C Mech, Physics C E&M, Euro, Stats. Based on past exams, I would have to place gov’t inbetween E&M and Euro.

I’m a math/science/music person. I thought all except Stats and Euro (and possibly gov’t) were easy.

Easiest: US Government
Hardest: Physics C: Mechanics. Omg.

I’ve taken 14: Biology, Calculus AB, English Language, English Literature, Environmental Science, European History, Macroeconomics, Physics C: Mechanics, Psychology, Spanish Language, Statistics, US Government, US History, World History

I got 5’s on the ones from sophomore and junior year, so I probably readjusted my opinion of the tests after I got my grades back. Like, Spanish Lang was probably hellish, but I don’t remember it being particularly bad because I eventually got a 5, lol.

I don’t know if I’ve already posted an answer to this, but while I am in the process of reviewing for a late exam…

Easiest: AP English Language.
Hardest: AP European History or AP Enviro. The former was my very first AP and being a very scared tenth grader at the time of course it was going to be difficult. I ended up getting a 4. AP Enviro…seems to have a tendency to ask very off the wall questions that as far as I am concerned don’t really matter that much to the subject at hand. It’s a good thing I only need a 3 for credit.

Besides the ones above, I have taken US History, Stats, Macro, Chem, Lit and BC. All of which ranged from easyish to hardish in that order.

OK
I’m the kind of person that is REALLY good at math, but is TERRIBLE at english so obviously I should say BC was easiest and Eng was hardest right?

Well,
I actually though BC was the hardest and US/Eng were really easy. I don’t want to see my Calc score (I think I shamed my teacher… I was one on the top students, but found it harder than everyone else)

Hardest? Freaking French Language (although I’ll assume Literature is even worse). At least with other AP tests, if you dont know the material, you can make an educated guess, because you at least UNDERSTAND THE QUESTION. But when you dont even know what the question/material/prompt is saying, and have no idea how to answer, well… And speaking? God, my tape was just me going “uhhhh… uhhhhhh…ummmm” for 10 minutes.

French is the only AP test I didnt get a 5 on. sadface.
