Hardest and Easiest AP Exam

Hardest -> easiest of the 11 I took
And my scores (AP scholar with distinction)

Computer science A -2
Chemistry - 2
Literature - 3
Calculus - 4
Euro - 3*
Language - 4
Statistics - 5
US history - 4
Biology - 4
US gov and politics - 4 **
Psychology - 5

*euro was my first AP test, had I not taken it Sophmore year I would have done better.

**I honestly felt like I got a 90% on the overall gov test but in the frq section I drew a ton of anarchy symbols and wrote a 5 essay about my strong dislike of the government so I feel like I got.marked down for thatā€¦might have offended the grader woops

Sent from my LG-P999 using CC App

Hardest - AP Physics b and c, AP World History, AP Calculus BC, AP Chemistry, AP Latin, AP Japanese
Average - AP English, AP English Lit., AP US, AP Economics, AP Government, AP Biology, AP Statistics, AP Euro History, AP Comp. Science A
Easy - AP Psychology, AP Environmental, AP Human Geography

The hardest exams - AP World history (lowest passing score across the country), AP Physics B, AP Chemistry, AP Computer Science, AP Latin and Japaneseā€¦

Im taking Physics B and I think its probably the hardest class Iā€™ve had. That or maybe i have a really bad teacher.

From the ones Ive taken, the History ones are really hard lol.

From my point of view, all the languages for non-native speakers are impossible. Also, iā€™m pretty decent at math and science, so I think that calc (AB and BC) are both a joke, as well as chem and bio. Physics C is a bit harder, but honestly the scale there is so generous it hardly matters.

Hard exams would probably be APUSH and AP Gov because of how arbitrary and memorization based they are.

I am non-native speaker. For me Lang was hard even though I 4ed it. The hardest one I have ever taken was AP US history. I had a severe head ache after that exam but I 5ed it. The easiest one I have ever taken is AP Biology( 5ed it).

For me, Lang is easiest and World History is hardest.

For me, Lang is hardest since English is not my mother language.
Calculus, CS, Environmental Science are easy
I think AP physics is the hardest science AP

Of the APs Iā€™ve taken as of today:

Easiest ā†’ Hardest
APUSH: Pending
Music Theory: 5
AP Euro: 5
AP Bio: 5
AP English Lang: Pending (I suck at MC)
AP Chem: Pending (I love it, but itā€™s challenging)

40% of all Calc BC students get a 5??? 72% of all AP Chinese get a 5???

AP Chinese isnā€™t really that easy. It is just that so many of us are native speakers, that it offsets the non-native speakerā€™s failures.

Took it in 7th grade and got a 5.

Easiest: AP Biology, AP Calc AB
Medium: AP Chemistry, AP Physics b and even C
Hard: AP English (both) AP Euro

Out of the ones Iā€™ve taken? Physics B was harder than Calc AB.
Of course, I have a feeling that this year was just easy for Calc in general.

Physics B and C are the toughest exams Iā€™ve taken.
Easiest (that iā€™ve taken) between Calc AB and World History.

AP Government was easy. Iā€™ve never taken AP Calc AB (and donā€™t plan to), but thatā€™s known as the hardest in my school.

Ha.

Easiest - BC
Hardest - Physics B (too many topicsā€¦ C is easier for me)

Easiest to hardest.
US Government and Politics pending
BC Calculus pending
Literature and Comp 4
Language and Comp 5
Microeconomics pending
Macroeconomics pending
US History 3
World History 3
Chemistry 4
Physics C: Mech pending

Histories are near hardest because I am absolutely awful at history, and thus made it difficult for me.

firered786-have you taken Biology and Calculus AB???

I took AP Bio, WHAP and Psych this year. For me:

The biology essay questions were easy except for one part that I didnā€™t care to study, and Iā€™m really worried about the multiple choice because there were tons of questions that I wasnā€™t confident onā€¦ I wish I hadnā€™t thought bio would be so easy, since it kind of ruined me. x-o I probably got a 4, so Iā€™m worried.

Iā€™m awful at history, and I only spent one night studying, excluding the study guides I had made the day before (I hadnā€™t paid attention in class at all throughout the whole school year), and I managed to finish reading Barronā€™s and Princeton Review. I crammed tons of stuff, everything from the journey of Russia from Kievian Russia to Stalin to minorities in Latin America, the Carribean, etcetc. I regret studying because I didnā€™t need any of it. Most of the MC was just passages and analysis. The rest was common sense, so I was happy but disappointed for studying so hard the night before. I think the SAT II for world history is harder than the AP because AP is basically reasoning, common sense, and analysis of documents. I didnā€™t have a great background in terms of knowledge of the time periods and such, but I still did fine, and Iā€™m pretty confident I got a 5.

Iā€™d say the hardest is biology (the subject matter is easy, I had memorized most of Cliffnotes when I went in to take the exam, but I was still stumped on a lot of the questions), but you could probably get a 5 on the AP Psych and world history exam with only one night of cramming. Itā€™s mainly common sense (look at the past free response questions on collegeboard. For example, when asked about the role of women in India during the Gupta empires, you wouldnā€™t even have to study if you knew that Hinduism was the predominant religion during that time period)

AP Psych was a joke ha. I didnā€™t know one part of one of the free response, but the rest was a breeze. Also, if you have a decent vocabulary, then you could reasonably guess the meaning of half the terms because itā€™s so straightforward (for example, mere exposure effect). On the multiple choice, I had a firm answer on all but two questions (I self-studied and Barronā€™s didnā€™t mention anything about them). I hadnā€™t studied much if not at all until the night before the exam but the psychology exam was still so easy. Another reason AP Psych was easy: I finished all of the MC in 40 minutes so I had plenty of time to double check my answers, and triple check some of them. Psychology is fun to study too, so win win situation!
For anyone who wants to self-study an easy AP during their free time, psychology is definitely the way to go.

The exams:
Easiestā€“>Hardest (Grade received)

Government- common sense MC, pretty simple FRQ, can memorize a wordlist and be sufficiently covered (5)

US History- With AMSCO and Direct Hits, you target the MC nearly perfectly and a good chunk of the free response. (5)

English Lang- The MC is getting easier than previous years, and essays are easy to BS. (5)

Calc AB- Really simple and straightfoward concepts. Doesnā€™t take much time to master. Fair test. (5)

Econ Macro- Somewhat tricky MC, mixed-bag free response, but for the most part a common sense test. (5)

Biology- Easy MC, mixed bag free response, an overwhelming amount to learn at times (5)

Calc BC- Most concepts easy, some hard. Tons of formulas. Fair test. (5)

Chemistry- Requires minimal conceptual grasp, straightforward and predictable test (5) But a lot of material and formulas to learn. Brown Lemay textbook is excellent.

World- Broad and tough MC as well as FRQ. Lot of information. Picked up the difficulty due to revisions(5)

Lit- Challenging MC, challenging essays due to change in content from Lang. Like an AP AP English Lang almost. (5)

Span Lang- unpredicatable, rape for nonnative speakers (most of them at least), requires a coverage of spanish that goes beyond what you need to simply teach the language (4, nonnative)

Physics B- unpredictable, tough multiple choice. requires solid math skills, memorization of a ton of formulas, and a strong conceptual understanding of their principals. Jumping around from one principle to the next is not fun. Some FRQ are extremely tough, in particular lab questions such as frq 6 2012. (5)
