I was wondering, what is the hardest training anyone who has gone through basic training has done. I have slight asthma but am very physically fit, I would just like to know if anyone has any horror stories or knows of anyone who was ever in trouble due to asthma. Thank you.

Asthma is a disqualifier, but you might be able to get a waiver. I am not sure.

They barely let me in because I had asthma at age 12. If your medical records allow you claim your asthma has been gone at the earliest time possible, I wouldn’t tell them I have slight asthma, if you don’t need medication or inhalers you don’t have asthma. Anyways you will probably have to take a methacoline challenge. I kept fighting DODMERB forever to get in and I thought childhood asthma wouldn’t be a big deal but be warned they overreact to that sort of thing.

It’s not an overreaction, unfortunately. While someone’s asthma might not be a problem in New Mexico or Wisconsin, no one really knows if it could be a problem in Afghanistan, South Korea, Germany, or a host of other places you might wind up in the military.
