I hoppe there isn't a thread like this already (if there is moderators please delete this) but I want to see what CCers think about what will happen in this seventh and final installment of the Harry Potter Series. The countdown has begun, in less than 1 month the answers to all our questions will be answered.

I bet $5 with this one chick. I have an excellent chance of winning because she was sooo specific about how Harry would die (Harry is a horcrux, but neither Harry nor Voldemort knows), that I'm going to be $5 richer very soon.

As long as Ron doesn't kick the bucket, I'm fine.

EVERYONE! LISTEN TO MUGGLECAST! They pretty much explain my entire view on HP.

Wait, how would Harry be a horcux? Nevermind, I'll look at mugglecast.

Exactly. Oh, and mugglenet.com. It's awesomeness^1000000.

Gandolf...err..Dumbodore will come back with a bunch of talking moving trees and they'll eat all the death eaters because they're immune to magic!

and

Hagrid dies!

Snape is on Harry's side and it's painful to me when people say otherwise... Snape is not evil!

yea i think snapes on harry's side too, when dumbledor was killed he said "please snape" do you think he actually wanted to be killed.

I....I thought JKR said specifically that Harry -wasn't- a horcrux. Did I miss something?

Um, I kinda hate Harry though. He's so annoying and full of himself. Him dying wouldn't be the worst thing that happened. I just don't like to think of Voldemort triumphing. I'm not THAT bad of a person.

I'm positive Snape's a good guy, too. He's obviously the most complex character JKR's written, and I, like Hermione trusted Snape because Dumbledore did. But huh, Harry's not going to have Dumbledore save his arse anymore.

Snape and Lupin are both my fave characters (well, I fancy Cedric, but he didn't last long). I mostly just push for my own faves and don't give a darn about the rest. They can all kick the bucket.

I think I'm going with TritiumKnight's version.

i know hemingway, jk rowling killed off the hotest guy in the book.
i think the books have been progressively declining in quality.
shes making too much money.

i think harry lives and goes on to teach the defense against the dark arts position. I think so because in book 6, dumbledore said that ever since voldemort asked for the position, a teacher hasn't had the job for more than a year, so i think harry kills old voldy, and take the job

oh, and ron dies, along with Hagrid and other lesser characters.

oh, my other theory is harry dies and malfoy teaches the DADA class.

That would fit in perfectly with the "Love" theme. Harry sacrifices his life to save Malfoy, even though Malfoy hated him. Then, Malfoy sees the wrongs of his ways and goes on to become a DADA teacher.

there was an interesting theory from some news show (i think msnbc). the guy said that he didn't think harry died, because then nobody would see the last two movies.
however, he though harry's scar was a horcrux, and just as harry was about to kill himself, snape came out and told him an alternate way to kill the horcrux, but it involved him giving up his wizarding powers.
that way, it would clearly be the end of the series, but many fans would be happy because he didn't die.

Exactly. I know Harry's not a horcrux, but this chick won't listen. So I'm $5 richer.

I don't know, it would make a lot of sense if he was. Voldy still had one left to make when he went to kill harry's parents, nobody has ever seen a scar like that (horcrux's are amazingly rare), and if harry had voldy soul in him, then the prophecy that he was worried about wouldn't work.

I've read the 6th book, but I don't really know what a horcrux is. :D What's the big deal with horcruxes anyway?

I'd choke you, but I'm too far away.

a horcrux is an object that a person (in this case, Voldemort) can store a part of their soul in. most people can, if at all, only split their soul in two, but Voldy has many. So unless all the horcruxes are destroyed, Voldy still lives.

lol. a few weeks ago, after having only read the 6th book once, i had forgotten, too. I just re-read it, though (like, 3 weeks ago, i think).

Basically, when you kill somebody, your soul becomes damaged. Horcruxes use this to split your soul in two, making it so that if somebody kills your physical being, you still have part of your soul alive.

Voldemort did this six times (splitting his soul into 7 parts, which is supposed to be the most powerful wizarding number, along with the religous stuff). Harry destroyed one in the second book (Tom Riddle's diary), and in the 6th book, dumbledore tells the story of destroying one. That leaves four left (although one is up in the air, since they were supposed to find it, but it was missing).
that's basically it for horcruxes, i believe.

[edit] oh, that leads me to something i've been waiting for the 7th book to answer. Who is R.A.B.? any theories here?

Regulus something Black. Du-uh. ;)
