I would love to hear from MT students (and parents) regarding your experience at Hartt. Are you happy with the program, social life, and overall experience at Hartt in general?

I am very, very happy here!! The program has challenged me and I believe I have improved (especially in voice and dance) by a significant margin. Hartt’s great because it is challenging but students don’t, typically, feel like the workload is completely too much. Socially, I have made some great friends. I’m close with everyone in my class and the students in the years above us have all reached out the freshmen. The theatre division really is a family. I love it here!

@theatrenerd10, thank you for your post. I’m so glad to hear you love it as my daughter will be attending in the fall. She is trying to determine whether or not she should apply to Hawk Hall for housing. Where do most of the MT/Theatre majors live?

The freshman are kinda scattered all over the place. There are about 5 of us living in Hawk Hall, and the remaining 13 of us are in the freshman complexes. Being in one or the other doesn’t really change your experience, except for going to bi-weekly meetings for your RLC if you live in Hawk Hall! It’s not until sophomore year when things begin get varied. People move off campus, others live in the village apartments, others in the Regents and Park River buildings.

How does your daughter like it?

After much deliberation, she ended up accepting another offer. However, she was very impressed with Hartt’s program.

I was thinking if I got accepted to hartt I would want to be more involved in the school. How hard is it to join a sorority while in hartt musical theatre?
