@JakeZim Sorry I meant to say they don’t usually call tomorrow. Sorry for the confusion. I haven’t seen any reports of getting an acceptance call on a Wednesday. Of course, this year is different, but I doubt that calls will be made tomorrow if some where made today.
Hey guys, I just wanted to let you know that someone from my school got off the waitlist today. I don’t know them very well so I don’t really know what their stats are, I just found out about it through snapchat stories.
What state is your friend in
@highstats CT
Seriously guys!
I have been following this thread since it started and I really find many contradictions and myths. Today only, a bunch of people said that they called the admissions office and nothing is coming in near time. However, another person pops up and claims that he is talking on behalf of his friend (very weird). Like seriously! what kind of friends talk on behalf of their friends who got admitted in a thread where every one is anonymous? Logically, at least if that loyal friend’s words are true, the admissions office should have mentioned a wave in near time to people calling instead of keeping everything vague.
I can’t say anything rather than only time will prove to us whether we are going to wait until June or not. Everything here should be taken with a grain of salt.
Good luck for you all
Many schools often contradict themselves when asked about admission dates. Brown said that they wouldn’t take anyone off the waitlist before May 15, yet they had waves in April and haven’t taken anyone off later than May 15. It is likely that Harvard made a few calls today, but I am optimistic that there is still a lot of movement to be seen.
I know it seems kind of suspicious, haha. But I assure you that I am not lying; I wouldn’t trick other students into getting their hopes up for no reason. In retrospect, it definitely seems weird that I’m talking on behalf of my friend. We just thought that with the way CC operates and its often harsh reputation, it would be best for me to talk about it so that he didn’t get overly bombarded with questions.
I completely understand if there are still suspicions (for example, WaitlistBoy says his schoolmate is from CT but if you look back in his threads, he says he’s from MA so that’s a bit odd) but I swear this is true. I guess we’ll see how the waitlist progresses from here on out, but my friend and I wish everyone here good luck.
@lucadwong Its a boarding school that I go to, so that’s why someone from CT goes to my school in MA. Sorry, I should have specified that.
Milton?
@lucadwong Would you mind asking your friend when the given deadline to accept the offer is once he receives the portal update?
Maybe Harvard has a really good yield this year considering the lack of acceptances across the board. It still strange they haven’t released a yield which is usually the precursor to the first wave.
@Cjhastings322 The AO told him his deadline is the 29th.
so now that the first round is out, are we expecting some rejections soon, and when will the next wave most likely be
Given that deadline, I would expect the next wave to release around June 1/2
@gogw1234 I doubt few rejections, if any, will come out this early. Most schools are holding onto the waitlist longer to hedge against any potential under-enrollment from gap year request later in the summer.
Any chance that they are distributing first wave acceptance phone calls over several days (i.e. Tuesday and Wednesday)?
@1Phish It’s possible but it hasn’t really happened all that much before. Of course, Harvard has been doing things very differently with the waitlist this year so there is a possibility.
Guys BTW, my friend who is also on the Harvard waitlist, told me that the 2024 facebook group suddenly had 5 people join tonight after having pretty much no changes in members for a week. He’s been tracking it everyday for over a month.
Only 5?
