i've talked to my counselor and their fussing all over about the essays so I am more stressed out than i probably should be. Although I know how difficult it is to get into the top colleges such as HYPW and etc, I think they sometimes over-exaggerate their difficulty. My SAT went from 2170 to 2330 and I hope it isn't overlooked being the fact that english is not my first language. Ironically I top in english at my school but for some reason, self-study is what raised by verbal from 630 to 760. Ridiculous test.

As said before you have as strong a chance at Harvard as almost any one could have sans extremely rich legacy or other factors outside your control. That being said, don't be too surprised if you were to be rejected from Harvard. However, I'm pretty sure many colleges including some Ivies would almost be a lock for you. And your chances at Harvard's peers, Stanford, Princeton, MIT, and Yale are very strong as well (if you plan to apply there)

Although your stats are impressive, Harvard (and many of the top schools) reject scores of students with perfect test scores and perfect grades. Think about it logically: These schools have to fill the vacancies on their athletic teams and in school band, admit some legacies and the kids of famous/powerful parents. Then there are the 'purple zebras' (he's an Olympic skier, she is a nationally-ranked chess player, etc...). By the time these places are filled, the number of slots for purely brilliant kids are few and you need more than that to capture their attention.

This isn't to discourage you: Just realize that a rejection is statistically likely and not because you didn't meet the academic qualifications.

Moral: Don't get your heart too set on one school.

collegealum. thats how they do it in my school. they take all your grades for your classes and average them. and btw a 99.4 unweighted is insane. If not Harvard then definately one of the top schools
