Does harvard divide applicant pools using ethnicity/nationality or geographic location???

if for example, a chinese student who has lived 2 years of his life is applying from a country like Chile (after residing like 4 years in Chile), does this student still compete agqainst the chinese or the ppl from latin america???

um I dont know. I just know that there are a bunch of you, and if they reject a bunch of American asians, then i cant only see what will happen to international ones... dont worry! 2 hours1

It's probably by state too. I really don't know, but I was also wondering this. Do you think they say you can accept 20 applicants from let's say Montana. So they pick the top 20 applicants. Is this is why it is easier to get in from Montana? Because there might only be 30 applicants from Montana. How does it work out?

g0ldenboy from what I hear Harvard denies fervently that it's eaiser to get in from say Montana than it is in New Jersey; however, I think we can all agree that what a college does and what a college says are often contradictory to each other quite often. I would assume it's more on the subconscious level ("wow this kid is from Montana, this is interesting since there isn't as much opportunity there").
