Harvard Class of 2021 RD Thread

@waitwhutwhy17 Thanks a lot! Congrats!

do deferred students get likely letters?

Apparently not @wherewillibe2021

@wherewillibe2021 I don’t think so because if students are top applicants, they probably would’ve been accepted rather than deferred in the EA round. (I was deferred too btw)

@ricka8 thanks! :smiley:

@nervous17yearold welp we are on the same boat! btw, did you update your application in any sort of way since being deferred?

@wherewillibe2021 I updated my ECs a little bit but I think the biggest addition was a dance arts supplement.

also, are likely letters still being sent out?

Does any body know at what hour will decision will be revealed?

5 pm EST for all ivies

Every time I read about another person getting a likely letter, it reminds me of a few years ago when another top school (Johns Hopkins I think) accidentally sent out a ton of acceptance notifications to people who were supposed to be rejected. I really hope Harvard isn’t making a mistake… I didn’t think I was good enough to get in, let alone get a likely letter!

@brennan0111 now you have me scared…did you get a phone call too, or just a letter?

@brennan0111 I feel the same way. But I wonder how big of a mistake it is that they send an email to call, call, update the portal, and (in my case) contact the interviewer about admissions. If it all ended up being a joke I think I would die.

guys decisions come out March 31?

@Crystalline-asa March 30

@waitwhutwhy17 and @LindsayHarvard where are you from? Are you first generation ? Who receives likely letters apart from athletes and kids with amazing science awards?

@juniormathwiz I’m from a rural California town and I am first gen and URM. That’s exactly why I’m worried. There’s nothing exactly extraordinary about me. I’d be a borderline admit in general and don’t see exactly what about me merits a likely letter. Maybe we have a misunderstanding about who gets likely letters.

Maybe you’re just that good :slight_smile:

What are your stats? If you have really good credentials (though not the spectacular ones that you think you should have) it makes sense that Harvard should send you a likely letter! Congrats :slight_smile: @LindsayHarvard

I’m hoping for a miracle. Please let me get in!!! [-O<

Just wondering, where are your “safety” schools? Please don’t say Yale haha
