omg is that true? 'cause they haven’t requested any documents from me yet @T26E4 and imo the middleman person could easily just be a alumni association manager or sth
@kurtgu9903 I’m sorry to make you worry. If the person did not ask you for any documents to bring, then that’s fine. But do expect to be videotaped. You can imagine a scenario where someone with great English skills pretends to be the applicant during an interview. That’s what this is to guard against. If your written English is indicative of your spoken ability, you’ll have nothing to worry about! Good luck!
Haha great! Thx man
Once circa December 15th arrives, will we get an email saying that our decisions are available on the portal?
@semperubisububi1 You’ll get an email that will tell you when the decisions get posted many days before the actual date.
@T26E4 - thank you for that info. I was not aware that we will receive an email prior to the actual decision date.
You believe correctly.
Hey guys–I received an interview a while ago (CA) and the person who contacted me told me that the deadline for EA interviews was November 15th, so if you didn’t get an interview yet, then most likely you won’t be able to receive an interview before EA results come out but on the bright side, if you get deferred then you’ll be able to interview! (and of course, if you get accepted, more power to you! )
@T26E4 I am confused here. Please help me solve this problem. I live in a town where interviewers aren’t available but 3 days ago I am currently in some other city having plenty of Harvard interviewers. Do I email them? I think international interviews in countries with limited interviews are still going on. Please suggest.
@stresstasticlife I got my interview notice on the 19th tho
@intellectboy: The problem is: whom do you email? I suppose you can let admissions know you’ll be temporarily available in city X but given how late it is (write ups due Dec 1?), I highly doubt they’ll reassign you to a completely new area. But I suppose it can’t hurt to try. Knowing you’re in India however, I think if they really really wanted you to be interviewed, they would have offered a virtual interview to you, I’m afraid.
Received email on November 21st from alumni. Interview scheduled for December 3rd.
From today’s Crimson story “Harvard Admissions Officers Rarely Consider Applicants’ Social Media”: “The College will announce its first round of admitted students to the class of 2021 on December 13th.”
@EastGrad - thanks for the info. Coming from the staff writer of the Crimson, sounds legit. 21 days to go!
Do results ever come out on a Tuesday ?
Was I the only one who made sure December 13th wasn’t a Friday?
I guess the 13th is when I’ll get my impending deferral
Hyped to be rejected on the 13th x_x
My daughter applied to Harvard Early Action knowing it was very much a long shot for her to get in due to her ACT score- ( a 28- she is a URM and a former D1 recruit by a public college- she now wishes to go to Harvard and not pursue her D1 scholarship - long story). The rest of her application is on par. (3.98 GPA unweighted, 6 honors classes / 6 AP classes/ 6 dual enrollment courses/ challenging coursework/ certified gifted/ volunteer this, award for that. blah blah blah.
Regarding her interview, I wanted to share her story since no one seems to have had a similar encounter. She was actually interviewed by two alumni. The meeting was set up by her initial interviewer and when she arrived, another interviewee was also there as well as another Harvard Interviewer. Her initial interview lasted approximately 45 minutes and she stated it went really well- much better than she expected. At that point, the two candidates switched rooms and then met with the other interviewer and those second interviews lasted 20 minutes. Both my daughter and the other young lady left at the same time.
Not sure if anyone has had a similar experience but I thought it was nice that they got the chance to meet with two interviewers on the same day in the same setting.
