@pocrocodro Wow what else do you know about her? I wonder…
@DeeperBlue25 Nothing much, lol, except that she lit up once hahaha. I just looked her up after reading the initial Malia comment and saw her height and wrote that.
I honestly don’t care much about going to school with Malia Obama. She is just another person to me and I will judge her based on her personality, not her status as the former president’s daughter. And although I won’t make any judgements about her until I meet her, I’ve heard some negative things about her personality.
@pocrocodro She’s also three inches taller than me… o_O yikes
@MedSciBud But remember this is a biased sample size.
Knowing how kids are these days, I know there will probably be a few kids just applying to Harvard because of that.
Just a friendly tip. I highly recommend using memes to pass the time until our Harvard decision.
Anyone else get scared at the thought of 40 adults talking about you for 30 mins scrutinizing your life choices. . .
Sure there might be some kids who apply to Harvard solely because of Malia, but I doubt they’re serious competition.
@DoctorMD I completely agree with you about Brock Turner. I also just read a news article that this is the first year Stanford has declined to release admissions data, perhaps because their admit rate went up.
@WeAreNumberOne I love memes. But how would that work on CC?
@pineapple86 Completely agree, can’t imagine someone competitive being superficial enough to apply just because of her. But I can see smart people being restricted by parents from applying to Stanford due to the Brock Turner case and recent allegations of rape culture.
To be fair, Harvard has had its share of sexual scandals this year… (athletic teams)
@ivyleaguedreamen Very true. It’s horrifying that our top universities contain such students.
Honestly, I can’t focus on anything right now, knowing decisions are just a day away. I need to study, but I really can’t do so without knowing my decision (99% deferred).
I have a history test and quiz tomorrow (on the same day) AND a particle physics test. However, all I can think about are Harvard and my juicy memes.
holy crap guys.
I hope everyone gets good sleep and be ready for celebration tomorrow .
Guys we are only 20 hours away from one of the most important moments in our lives.
If you got in, I’m sure that every single one of us would be happy for you; and if not, then it simply means that the universe has different plans for you, and all we gotta do is to keep going and believe that an amazing life is ahead of us.
Where I come from, there’s a strong emphasis on “identity”, and all students are expected to behave in one rigid manner. As long as you are in high school, you will be treated as a dumb kid. But here it’s different. It’s equal, welcoming, and fun, and I couldn’t think of a better way to spend all this time than to wait and stress out together with you guys.
I’m sure we’ve all been through a lot. We all worked incredibly hard to get here, and only a handful of people have gotten this far. For what it’s worth, we are all awesome people in one way or another, keep that in mind.
And if by incredible chance we get to go to Harvard together, I’ll cook y’all some authentic Chinese dishes to celebrate
You know it’s getting real when Gibby posts his annual “OMG - I got deferred” thread!
@pocrocodro - what’s real?
Just the whole decisions spiel – that we’re finally getting to know the outcome of all our work
I just for whatever reason logged on to CommonApp again and looked through my application. Terrible decision lolll regretting some of the things I put and kicking myself for putting too little/incorrect hours spent for some of my extracirriculars. Oh well. What can yah do now. At least I’m slightly more realistic now to myself about my chances of deferral.
