My D uploaded her LOCI and updates on Friday night and it immediately reflected there like a line item, just like what @lebowskidude mentioned. May be for those that sent their updates earlier, Harvard updated that in the system on 5/3/19 so it is showing like that. Just a guess.
I uploaded my materials in April, and for each document I submitted, the page reflected that as “received” for a “Wait List Update.” I would imagine it means nothing except for the fact that they got your stuff
anyone know when harvard will release their yield data? It should be in the coming days I think
@ibanker38 likely around may 10-15, which is when the Crimson usually publishes the yield stats. It’s hard to wait!
Do you think if we called the admissions office they would tell us the yield? They must know it by now.
I doubt they’ll tell a random student but it’s worth a shot.
I think someone should call the HPYS offices and ask about the yield rate or if they’re using the waitlist. Even if one if Harvard doesn’t respond we could at least make a haphazard prediction from the others.
I sent a waitlist update in April, but I just received an award for top math student and top science student at my school as well as a national percussion award. Should I even consider sending another update at this point?
@condorcat You should. Won’t hurt.
Does Harvard only look at 2 letters of recommendations? Does sending in a 3rd make sense if you are on the waitlist?
They’ll look at whatever you send them. Whether you should send another LoR is a different question.
@abcdzyxwvuts You should definitely try calling them and see what they say. Keep us updated here!
Someone on reddit said their friend just got in. Probably BS. Edit: Lol he got it confused with Yale
83% yield, everyone, don’t get your hopes up. Numbers were just released, and they aren’t looking good for us WL folk.
RIP boys it was a good run
So…anyone want to offer an brutally honest guess on how many they’ll accept from wait/z list?
It was 63 last year without z list I think, so maximum 53
Ouch.
I think Harvard was expecting a much lower yield than this.
last year’s total class size was 1716 with 63 off wl. Assuming same class size, there is room for 97 off wl.
@oneluv Eyy! That’s not so bad! plus like 50? ish Z lists? That 50 is completely made up, btw.
