Harvard Common App Supplement

I have a few questions.

Does Harvard have its own application separate from the common app?

Harvard's supplement essay is that very broad 5-option thing at the end of the common app, right (ex. unusual circumstance in your life)?

When it says "what language, other than English can you read, speak, or write" does that mean that language has to be fluent? Also does sign language count for this?

Thanks in advance. :)

No.

Harvard invites you to send in a supplemental essay, if you wish. They list five possible topics (not exclusive topics), including a general “unusual circumstances” one. They are not the Common App topics.

I believe that Harvard expects you to indicate if you are fluent in a language in speaking, reading or writing (but not necessarily all three). I see no reason why you could not indicate that you are less than fluent in a language, especially if that language would not otherwise show up on your HS transcript.

With the exception of Question 3, I can see no reason why you could not figure this out on your own and felt it necessary to “bump” the topic.

Thanks Hat.

Hat, there was a 5 day difference between my post and my bump. I posted that solely because I requested some answers, that’s all.
