Harvard GPA

Is it possible to gain admission into Harvard with a 3.75 GPA, my schools grading system is very difficult. Thanks for the feedback!!!

Possible yes, probable no.

Depends on your hooks. If you have none its a tough call with that GPA (or any GPA actually). FYI the median GPA at Harvard at D’s school is 3.68 unweighted. They will know the rigor of your HS - 25 applied and only 4 were accepted EA, so its still tough.
Honestly your CC will be able to give you the best info in this regard.

There are many different factors that go into admissions. Standardized test scores (including or not including subject test scores), weighted/unweighted GPA, course rigor, ECs (including how you spent your summer), recommendations, possible supplements, and essays go into one’s application.

In regards to your GPA; this is what Harvard says (take directly from their admissions website):

“Have you reached your maximum academic and personal potential?”
Course rigor, as well as performance goes into one’s GPA. Just like the guy above me said, the median GPA of Harvard applicants I guess is probably higher (too tired to look it up). With that being said, don’t give up! Although it’s difficult to determine if you have any competition within the pool of applicants, you probably shouldn’t give up on just one’s GPA. After all, standardized test scores, extra curricular activities, and essays are all very important factors into one’s application when reviewed.

It depends on the rest of your application and what you can bring to the mix of the class.

So yes it is possible. However, it is thought that students admitted to Harvard with a GPA of 3.75 and below are athletic recruits in helmet sports (football, ice hockey, lacrosse, wresting), underrepresented minorities (URM’s) or developmental cases (students of large money donors). If you are not in one of those categories, your chances are highly doubtful unless a 3.75 represents one of the highest GPA’s at your high school.

and your HS is recognized as a top HS, like Stuyvesant, TJHSST, Andover, Exeter, etc. Having a 3.75 and being top of the class at East Podunk High will probably not cut it.

@skieurope rip got rejected by TJ (ಥ ͜ʖಥ)
