My interviewer asked me if I am fond of any Harvard econ professors. It turned out that she was a TA for one of the professors I listed, so this produced a pleasant 5 minute conversation that was not as bad as the rest of my interview...

Yeah...I have to admit. I would have been all over that question because everytime something Harvard pops up in the NYT, I can't help but absorb every word of it haha.

However, if she did look unfavorably upon you for not knowing much about the Summers thing, I'd say that's sort of silly; there are, after all, much more substantive and important current issues and topics that she should be judging your knowledge of. Globalization, out-sourcing, Darfur, the SAT, dividing red and blue lines in the country, going to Mars, haha -- anything other than some political controversy erupting out of the upper echelons of the H-Bomb. I doubt you'll be blamed for not having your head up Harvard's ass for two months straight.

lol! oh wells! what can do/say- It's all gud- I don't think I care anymore- I wish I didn't- It's soooooooooooooo frustrating! The tension and all!

It is going to be over soon. And then we will be feeling these feelings again next year...

Not me. Alas, this junior transfer is done after this!

no but as ccers, I feel like at a point we shud be able to beat the system, yeah? I mean, there are so many applicants that come on college confidential and using their stats and backgrounds, we shud by now be able to predict what we utlimately shud do to get in-and by get in I mean get in for sure!
(easier said than done tho! Ivy admissions has defied human intelligence!)

yea, even tho I'm a freshman I certainly don't want this emotional turmoil again next year! (ha! It almost made me fail my finals!)

never going through this again as well

i'm staying exactly where i end up next fall for three years except for a semester abroad

You say this now. Who knows what is going to be in your head next year...

lol atanas!!!! Funny I was just thinking that...

Haha. nspeds is the perfect example. The kid transfers into Georgetown only to decide to apply to some other schools, gets into two of them, and will probably just stay at Georgetown. Man.

I JUST got called to an interview! What does this mean?!?! I thought the interview process was over?

you have got to be kidding. decisions come out in like, less than ten days. this is absurd.

to add to that, congradulations, i'm just so confused by what this interview thing means.

No I'm really not... I am just as confused as you are. She wanted to get it done as soon as possible, so the interview is tonight. Maybe she is just behind the ball? I really have no idea

"behind the ball?"

Who got it rolling? Did someone drop it?

/doesn't beleive in same-day interviews
//or Santa
///believes in slashes

Maybe Harvard's hard-pressed to decide exactly who they want, and they're giving interviews out on an as-needed basis...?
Or perhaps your interviewer just totally forgot about the interview, and it was meant to be 3 weeks ago?

haha, silly harvard alumni....

oh wow, if we go there, we might be giving these to people writing about us on message boards someday

See! i I told u guys it wasn't too late for interviews!
Hey! Don't bomb it! And research all u can about lawrence summers! This is ur big chance to get in!
