I haven’t been contacted yet, either.
Neither have I
I just got contacted this week. Relax, guys. There’s still time.
Hey guys does anyone know Harvard undergraduate admission email address? I need to send an email to ask about something but I can’t find It anywhere on their website. Also, did anyone get another notifications or emails from Harvard other than about application portal information/interview request? Thanks in advance!
If you go onto the Harvard website and find contact us, there is a drop down menu for questions and you can submit it through there.
Don’t worry! Harvard will contact you - it all depends on whether or not they have an interviewer available in your location.
I just had my interview today, and it went wonderfully. It was probably the best interview I’ve had this year. The conversation was very informal, and my interviewer told stories about his time at Harvard (he graduated in the 1970s). The interview lasted 15 minutes over the time limit given to us, and I had to leave only because there was another applicant who needed to have his interview done after me.
Here are some of the questions you should be prepared for:
- List some adjectives that describe yourself.
- Why Harvard?
- What do you see yourself doing at Harvard?
- What are some of your goals after Harvard?
- Tell me a bit about your extracurriculars.
- How would you describe your high school experience? What were some of your best experiences? Your worst experiences?
- How do you spend your free time?
- Is there anything else you want us to know?
I got a look at the interviewer’s folder and saw a printed outline for the questions that Harvard wanted the interviewer to ask. It seems as if the questions are similar for all applicants. I can’t guarantee it, but it’s good to be prepared!
In addition, make sure that you have at least 6 questions of your own to ask the interviewer. Make sure these aren’t questions that can be answered on Harvard’s website. Also, for the Why Harvard? question, don’t reply “because it’s Harvard.”
Hi ! Has anyone got an e mail request for interview in India/ Southeast Asia ?
How much do you guys think extenuating circumstances matter to Harvard? I know I can’t change the past but the closer admissions gets, the more I’m poking holes into my own application.
Accidentally posted in the wrong thread. For receiving test reports, is it normal for the application checklist only indicate when the first test report was received? I sent in my SAT I scores in the same report as my SAT II scores in December 2015 and for the SAT/ACT section, it says received in 2014. The 2014 one is from a test date where I took the ACT. I know they had to have received the new report because the checklist also indicates they received my SAT IIs on January 5th. Should I contact them?
Hey those of you that have gotten interviews, when did you submit your application, closer to Jan 1 or earlier?
@Optimyst I submitted mine on January 1st (11:45 p.m.-ish) and have my interview this Saturday.
@XoXdreamerXoX, Good luck with your interview. I’m sure you will do well.
@blippy1997 We have the same problem, please let us know what harvard says about the incorrect scores date.
@Optimyst Thank you!
I’m sure your interviewer will contact you soon. It just takes a while.
Hello all,
does anyone know how many students applied in the RD round, including those who were deferred?
I wouldn’t be surprised if they get close to 40k applications.
@strideforward I think it’s about 35K. You can find the exact number on the website.
Yeah it was 35,000+ last year, but there will probably be more this year. I’m guessing around 37,000+? Although, the number of high school students in the U.S. has been decreasing since 2010, so the number of quality applicants isn’t actually increasing every year, just the number of people who want to “give it a shot”.
Does this number not include foreign students? The pool of quality applicants is surely increasingly if only b/c the Chinese applicants. -psy
Here’s a nice website for stats: https://www.■■■■■■■■■■■■/ivy-league-admissions-statistics/
Last year Harvard received 31,000+ RD applications and 37,000+ in total.
