@aharper98 Did you visit on your way to Kayseri? You got to travel a LOT for such a short time span. I’m sure it’ll boost your application a bunch!
@schroscat Oh you lucked out, POGILs aren’t hard but just annoyingly tedious to do! Also same here five APS but I’ve still managed to find time to procrastinate haha
@redrabbit In all honesty, AP Econ is probably the class that is sucking the most of my time. We’re doing physics right now in calculus, so the material makes sense for once!
@schroscat 5 APs was me last year. Oh it was a tough time. Literally cried tears of joy at the end of the year. Power through I believe in you!!!
@schroscat Ahaha I too am taking too many APs (4 this semester, 6(?) next semester) yet I’ve still chosen to procrastinate and senioritis-ate. You can come to the dark side too if you want, but the downside is it’ll raise the stakes of getting EA hahaha
Currently procrastinating my statistics homework. Guys do it for me. thx.
@schroscat same here for Calc! If for some miracle I get into Harvard though, I’m actually terrified to find out how hard the class material will be
@tuty143 I cried tears of joy after the AP Physics test last year. On the Part II, I drew cats all around my work after I finished the exam. It’s my proudest moment.
@RandomRhino I think I’m going to just…not think about other colleges until after the 10th. If I get in (fingers crossed!) I’m definitely going, so all I have to do is keep my grades up and hold on to whatever sanity I have in me. My after-school naps keep me young.
@redrabbit23 I’m actually really great at math, but I need time to soak in all the info. I like to prove the mathematics that we’re learning in class so I get a true understanding of the material, but sometimes I don’t have the time to do so. This makes me sad, and frankly, SUPER stressed for calc tests. I cannot wait for all the calculus to prepare for med school! If we all get in, let’s form the calc study group now. We’ll never leave the library.
@trainguy1 No! AP Tests are not the end all be all, just like the SAT is not the end all be all. I’m sure Harvard will understand if you got a three.
@schroscat I hope to go to med school, too. And, the study group sounds awesome!
@trainguy1 You don’t necessarily have to be a president. As long as you were persistent with certain EC’s and really showed interest, you should be fine. Don’t sweat it!
Wow there’s so many of us in AP Bio! I am also in AP Bio
@Sajidur4 What do you want to specialize in after med school?
@trainguy1 I’m the kid that is in every single club; I wanted to get every penny’s worth of my school tuition. So I’m the Student Director/Lead Flautist of my Wind Ensemble (I’ve auditioned for the All-State solo festival and qualified&performed for the All-County festival), President of the Speech and Debate team (which is my child), rep for student government, senior journalist for the newspaper, flautist/reed player for both school and community musicals, volunteer at local hospital…the list goes on and on. I just like learning a lot and I wanted high school to be meaningful.
@schroscat love the study group idea! Now I just need to get accepted, hahaha
@schroscat I love neuroscience and I even chose that as my undergraduate concentration at Harvard. I’ll probably try to mix oncology to specialize in neurooncology. How about you?

@Sajidur4 I want to be a cardiothoracic surgeon, but I want to specialize in cardiac surgery. On a personal level, my father passed away from cardiac failure when I was a youngin’, and ever since then I’ve been determined to make sure that no one–under my watch–loses a family member due to something that can be diagnosed so quickly. I didn’t have to lose him, and I’m going to make sure that it won’t happen to anyone else.
On a brighter note, I will never trust myself with neurology. If someone gave me an open brain, I would not be able to handle myself. I’d probably poke and prod around; in the end, I’d probably disable my patient.
@trainguy1 I completely get what you mean; but I don’t think having a lack of EC’s will be a make or break for you. You need to remember that adcom looks at your application as a whole, and they will see your determination and drive!
@Sajidur4 I want to concentrate in neuroscience as well! Although I’m not sure if I want to go to med school
@trainguy1 did you receive any kind of confirmation on your portal that your supplement was received? Also, I do a lot of “life” photography. Just everyday things. When I’ve travelled, etc. I also am I volunteer photographer for various non profits and people around town.
@schroscat I’m pretty interested in neuroscience as well (but probably won’t major) but if you ever get a chance go on YouTube and look up videos of neurosurgeries! They’re a little gross but so fascinating to watch. Me and my friend (who’s now studying to be a neurosurgeon) spent all of a summer camp watching those videos, haha
