QUESTION EVERYONE!!! My high school counselor got an email that was along the lines of “Hi, I’m emailing on behalf of Harvard. We would deeply appreciate it if you would send in Adam’s current grades…”
Has this happened to anyone?
@aharper98 I haven’t gotten anything like that.
I wonder what the acceptance rate will be for us CC users, I’d figure the caliber of students on this site is a bit higher than the average applicant. I have a good feeling you will all make it and I’ll be the lone rejection
@aharper98 relax; it just means they feel their decision would be better substantiated with your current grades. If they don’t ask for it, it means that they are confident enough about their decision to not require additional information.
@aharper98 I think that’s a good sign, It sounds like they want to see your latest grade to support their decision.
@orionsagittarius Interesting. It doesn’t necessarily mean they are trying to justify their decision one way or the other, correct? Just that they need more information to justify a decision.
I hope they don’t call to get my grades, haha. I took a tad bit of a dip because I’ve stressed myself out so much the last quarter. If anything, my teacher could vouch for me; she spent like half an hour convincing me that she knew that I knew the material, but I had gotten myself so anxious that I blanked out.
Darn amygdala.
9 days, 13 minutes
Guys I have a half day next Thursday… what am I going to do with myself for 6 hours
Do you think if they are calling counselors to verify info they’ve already started making decisions?
@Nervousa
Wow that’s great. I was starting to wonder myself as I still have have not heard anything. Here’s hoping!
And good luck! Let us know how it goes!
What area are you from?
@flautamagica I would say so! Looks like the big committee may be under way! fingers crossed
Hey guys! My counselor was emailed today for my current grades as well. Said they will need them while making final decisions in committee later this week
Also, it is my understanding that all decisions are made in committee. I believe asking fo quarter grades is a method to confirm continuity of previous grades, but there is no reason to email if you haven’t made it to committee.
^^that must me a good sign for you guys then!! That means you made it to final committee!!!
Question to everyone: Do you think that only the applicants whose counselors are emailed for grades made it to final committee?? Or is it for people who would be helped by another quarter of grades? I haven’t talked to my counselor and I’m scared to ask in case no request= no chance
wondering the same thing @CDOESenior2k16
^^ same here. My counselor wasn’t contacted today, either.
I’m sure it isn’t necessary to make final round — don’t worry! There are 10 very qualified early applicants at my school, two with major legacy, and I’m the only one whose grades were requested. I had a rocky junior year so that might have something to do with it. Also taking all APs, so they might want to confirm that I’m actually doing well and not getting Cs in all of them haha
Do you think people who made it to committee might not have their counselors contacted? Like maybe if their test scores are really high or something? Currently freaking out lol
