Harvard SCEA Class of 2020 Applicant Thread

^^yes precisely the point in asking everyone. I’m sure there is some sort of routine procedure, however modified among interviews.

@nsliyromanov Oh! My apologies! I got the wrong impression because you were so active on Amherst forums so close to ED and you’d said you’d committed to Amherst.

^^ and so if you get different answers about interview lengths and the questions they were asked, how does that help you with your upcoming interview? You already had an interview with an admissions officer which I assume would have entailed a fair amount consternation and preparation. I would think you can relax and enjoy having a pleasant conversation with an alumnus(a) now. Good luck!

@nsliyromanov Also, you stated that you had your alumni interview for Georgetown back at the end of September. How were you able to do that and still apply to Harvard?

I guess you applied there RD but somehow got an interview. Well anyway, best of luck.

Georgetown likes applicants to send in their Part 1 (biographical information) quickly so they can assign interviewers; in fact, they encourage applicants to submit Part 1 as soon as they know they plan to apply. It is not unusual for a RD candidate to have a September interview. Good luck to everyone. I would not overthink interview length, Nsliy.

^^ Thanks for that clarification!

@nsliyromanov are you russian?

Any NYers here?

^ Howdy. I’m a NYer.

Any international applicants here?

@asiankid88 yea see my topic

So has anyone that applied on November 1st had an interview yet? My message seems to have been lost in the masses. I applied October 28th and have heard nothing. I submitted my regular decision application for Princeton this weekend and received an email yesterday for an interview.
Seems odd :-/

@cristina1225 have you gotten an interview yet?

Nop, what about you?

Not yet… Haha, maybe it’s the region?

Applied October 29 and didn’t get any interview as yet. Maybe it is, because I live in Germany.

A friend of mine (who is the only person I know of to apply to a American university from my school) applied to Yale SCEA 2 years ago and got an interview. However, the interviewer never showed up and he never had the interview.
Nevertheless, Yale accepted him early action.

@Fuzerabit I applied November 1 and got contacted November 4 by my interviewer and I interviewed on November 7. Another friend of mine applied the same date and hasn’t heard anything. So while the date of when you submit your application may affect whether or not you get an interview, theres also a degree of randomness involved. If you dont interview, dont sweat it. It wont negatively affect you

@goldenmaster Omg that sounds so terrifying. If my interviewer didnt show up to my interview I would immediately start assuming horrible implications until notification day. Glad he got accepted regardless!

@giraffeinatree Are you an international applicant?

@NParker No, I live in FL

Interview was about an hour and went really well!! Hopefully only 20 days left until decisions!! Good luck to us all!

Guys… do you think our decisions have been made yet?
